We kept everybody and stole 2. Got to give ole WM some kudos. Nice job, now coach them up. This day is so big that we are almost forgetting that we got smoked by Ark. last night in basketball. Just like in recruiting, you can't win them all!

I read the whole thing. I probably feel that way because my business thrives on commitments and contracts just like Booms.. And maybe retarded was too harsh. How about extremely juvenile.

Here's a response from the Boss:
#Gators head coach Will Muschamp talks to @GatorZoneScott about "closing" in recruiting and on #NSD:
“People talk about closing – what’s the difference between closing in March and closing on Signing Day. Does it lessen the player’s value because you got him early? I think we’re all pretty happy we got Vernon Hargreaves. We all think he is pretty good, whether or not we got him on Signing Day really doesn’t matter. Here is a young man who could have gone anywhere in the country and he took one visit. He came to the University of Florida.
“I use Vernon as an example, not to single him out. I don’t buy into this idea of closing maybe as much other people do. You go out and you do your due diligence. It’s about building relationships and building trust. Maybe some of our guys weren’t into the glitz and glamour of signing day. We want blue-collar guys who are going to come in here with the right kind of character and integrity and do it the right way.”

I work with some wonderful but innocently naive, occasionally petulant and sometimes even deluded 6 and 7 year olds...
Today, however, this thread is the most absurd thing I've seen or heard. Congratulations! That's quite the achievement...

Some people just don't get it. What this staff did this year was AWESOME. It's one thing to have the #1 class like FSU did last year. It is another thing to have the #1 class and get recruits at just about every position. I mean look at the positions that Florida filled. OL check, DL check, Secondary check, LB check, RB check, WR check I mean I can keep going!

@ What the Boss said:
That's exactly the kind of recruiting standard we want set at UF.
Where relationships build commitments, and a kid begins to learn what making one really means.

Seems like you prefer the drama over getting quality recruits. Wake me up when you become a real fan.

I would much prefer to have the car in June and not have to worry about what I'm going to do if I get surprised and don't get a car on Christmas.

Oh I agree with this too, and I don't even believe the two views are totally incompatible. I don't think anyone wants to risk a recruit but surprises are nice too. Regardless, I think we can all agree that either way is better than what FSU has going.

You are an extremely perceptive person. To each his own.
However, hypothetically, and not to the original poster specifically:
Posters put out something about how they feel. Fine for them but not so much on sharing. Keep it to yourself. After the fact, If it seems immature to 99% of the posters responding,It probably is.
The second big mistake is to argue with everyone else who is not supportive of your post. Gets you nowhere. I am expert in this field as I have had more dud posts than most. If I put out one of my funny(to me ) posts, I know that there will be some tomatoes and rotten vegetables coming towards my face.
32 stated the orgasm analogy. It is amazingly ( even for one who posts wisely all the time ) accurate. Not that anyone here would ever post something like this, but it would be derided all day long... no, my wife and I dont have sex all year long..Nope. But we do get likkered up on NEW YEARS EVE and make like rabbits. Want to know how many times we had sex?
uh...no..not really. Thanks for sharing. Don't ever get stuck in the elevator on NEW YEARS.
Reference jag's post...brother, you said it for me. Nicely done.

i think the problem is that the original poster felt the need to express disappointment today, on what should be considered a great day.

Me thinks the coaches would rather get a good nice sleep the night before knowing they have 25 of 27 in the bag.

So...to paraphrase Coach...NSD is "just another day". No reason to treat it different from any other day.

It would be a travesty, it would be ridiculous to all of a sudden come back and get the feeling back, get the health back, feel good again and then all of a sudden go throw some other colors on my shirt and go coach. I don't want to do that. I have too much love for this University and these players and for what we've built." - Urban Liar

I think the OP is missing the point...what are the options? How about having 8 players selecting and you only get 4. Is THAT more exciting in the end? Whose day are you jonesing for? If you have an issue with being truly happy then that is a trait you are going to have to live with. I believe that is the quintessential definition of a "Debbie Downer." And yes, I read the entire post. But true happiness doesn't have a "yes, but..." attached to it. That is what a spoiled child says.
As I posted in another thread, I am much more happy to be low score in the clubhouse and drinking with my friends than still on the course and trying to catch up. JMHO
