Probably different than those made today, but hopefully more rational.

So then we should decide to deny certain people certain services?

Should we also be making choices on who gets welfare, unemployment, food stamps, and housing as well as health care on a more ''realistic" manner? Who makes the choices and how and why? What do you want to see happen. Obama barely talks about entitlement reform or decreases.

Made by government technocrats, in other words, and the douchey knowitalls who will fill those positions because they actually are vile enough human beings think they should have a say in the matter.

Whoever pays for it - now it is profit driven insurance companies making most of these decisions, while so far Medicare does a matador. Obviously that can't continue forever, especially with an aging population and medical care costs continuing to rise.

Dear Paul,
Death Panels have been here for years already with a big assist from Medicare.

Underlined portion tells more of the whole story. Sure, there are insurance companies who are total jerks and hurt people. Then, there are folks like those in the Villages who obviously didn't do any research on the total cost of owning a golf cart of their choosing:

"However, he said he had no idea it would cost him more to insure than a car."

Personally, I'd prefer death computers.

The total amount of profits for insurance companies in 2012 amounted to about 14 billion.
Medicare fraud is estimated at 80 billion. annually.
Who would be saving the taxpayer monies managing the nation's healthcare?

Yes we did such a fabulous job with Medicare that it is on a road sustainability and yet you want to give the government more and more control, thereby making more decisions that effect all of us. It perplexes me way you would trust bureaucrats so much as to making life and death decisions on people.

Then we agree that Medicare needs to tighten up on approval of medical procedures, much as do private insurance companies.

Gotta love the fiat debt Champion explaining that others will need to pay for the policies he pushes and supports in the future...

Not one penny in new taxes until the Democrats decide how much birthday cake they are willing to give back.

Have you ever seen an interview with Krugman? He doesn't even come across as very intelligent.
Friedman would run circles around him and have him run off a stage in tears. The guy is a clown-shoe.
but he is a leftist who advocates their positions

My biggest fear of the "Krugmans" in the world isn't the zigs and zags to justify each micro-stand. It is their unwavering belief that we have to bankrupt society completely in order to start at ground zero and "build it right this time." Thanks, but I have a hard time believing that there are that many intelligent (and honorable for the very long haul) people out there to pull that one off. The ultra-liberals KNOW that the reason that their plans failed is that they didn't invest in them enough. Need to try harder and with malevolence next time...for our own good.
