Now that she's hired a lawyer, I totally see your point.

This situation is not black and white. Alex high school coach Gatewood is really good friends with the Arky staff and he has been pushing the kid to them. He was pushing Alex to Wisconsin when the staff was there. Alex mother doesnt trust Gatewood or Arkansas. One of the big problems I have with official visits is that the school cant pay for the parents transportation.

How the hell is hiring a lawyer going to resolve this in his mom's favor? He got permission from his father. This is a done deal IMO.

Alex needs to tear it up on the stat sheet now, except against us.
Good luck to him.

BTW, love the LSU colored balloons. And the people behind him wondering what's taking their meal so long.

I read yesterday that he was going to sign with Arkansas regardless of what happened yesterday. If that's what Alex wants I hope he gets it. Bielema sure runs the heck out of the ball. Hopefully Alex flourishes and his mom worries about supporting his decision.

I think people may be a little quick to judge the mother here. The one person who will almost always try to do what they believe is right for the kid is the Mom.
His coaches and maybe his Dad and everyone else around him probably have their own reasons to influence his decision.
Other than maybe selfishness over wanting to keep him close to home, if she is trying to keep him away from Arkansas this badly, she probably has a pretty good reason. If she doesn't trust Gatewood or his relationship to the Arkansas staff, she probably has a VERY good reason.
It's easy to say just let Alex do what he wants, but there's a very good chance he is being taken advantage of by at least one of the people who are trying to push him there. Mom's are pretty good judges of character.

I don't understand why the mom needs to hire a lawyer though, unless she just doesn't want to return the money that Swag U gave her to get her son to go there

Sold to one school or another, he made the right choice, imo. BB will get things going at Arky. He needs a dynamic RB and knows how to coach them up.

Could be that also. My post was more of a joke directed at the U than it was at the mother. I agree that usually mom's are looking out for the best interest of their children more than anyone else.

In the meantime, they have requested The Cochran Firm's assistance in clearing up any false or inaccurate statements in the press.

my impression from this is not that she hired a lawyer to try to prevent her son from going to arky, but to protect herself from perceived slander in the press. after listening to the espn crew openly laugh and mock her all day yesterday, i can kind of see where she may be coming from.
