Yet obama can take a $4 Million dollar vacation and give out big pay raises while the little people are losing everything and cannot buy groceries. We could go into one hell of a recession before this is over.

With friends like obama we do not need any enemies.
If all workers hours were cut to 28 per week, that leaves shifts short-handed....not good for customer service.

It's unusual these days for p/t workers to be offered health insurance.

Obama had nothing to do with this....it's her manager or corporate.

Not altogether true nana. Everything is relative--as is the number of employees. If a business has for example, 12 employees and cuts them all from 40 down to 28 hours/week to avoid the health insurance, the business can afford to hire an additional 3-5 new employees to have ample coverage, yet cost him less overall by not having to handle the insurance benefits.

That is what many of those who support Obama's disasterous plan don't understand--the ones who are going to be hurt are the ones who only think they are benefitting from it...typically those who have been without health coverage before. They aren't going to be getting it even NOW--Obama care is simply not going to help anyone, yet will drive costs up, quality care goes down, and times to get seen by docs will drag on longer than ever. And you think a Waffle House shift is going to be short handed??--just wait and see what the medical field will endure after qualified people totally stop going into the medical field at all.

Please nana--don't blame manager or corporate for the example above--this ALL falls back on the very core of Obama care....TAX. That is all it is in the devilish underlying scheme of things and the first, foremost, and cardinal rule of business is reducing taxes as much as possible because the owners have invested capital AT RISK and the bottom line is THE reason they are in business in the first place. This is ALL on Obama-Pelosi-Reid-and every other numbskull supporter of the garbage piece of legislation which they voted on so we can now see what god-awful things were really in it.

Browse any of the work ads that are out there and you're already starting to see a seismic shift in the number of businesses looking for "part-time" workers at 28-34 hours. Retail, grocery stores, restaurants, and many, many other low-skill jobs are going to start cutting back on hours in order to get around these laws. Simply speaking: in order to comply with the law, they're going to have to lay off staff, raise prices, or cut the hours (and gross pay) or employees and do creative job shifts to ensure full staffing.

What do the liberals here not understand? Under Obamacare, companies with 50 or more full-time employees must offer insurance. Answer? Reduce your number of full-time employees by making alot of them part-time. Every small business in the Panhandle is doing this.

Why would a conservative be complaining about hours being cut. It's America, she should just get a second job, right? Whatever happens, it's her own responsibility. She made bad choices, right?

you can't argue this. they're just gonna have to wait and see for themselves that all will be well. i've given up arguing about it. it's the law, even some of the more rightwing governors are seeing the light and accepting the medicaid expansion. more and more people are feeling the benefits. my dad in law, a diehard republican, retired, is saving more than $100 a month on his prescriptions (yet, i bet he voted republican, lol) at any rate, as time passes everyone will see it's not the boogeyman that was predicted. just like medicare didn't turn us into a socialist country, even though that was the threat from those who opposed it.

Makes good sense. Everything is Obama's fault. The whole world is falling apart because of that guy and his moderate taxation structure. Could you just imagine how bad it would be under a Reagan taxation regime??? oooooh....nooooo.

Don't blame the cook. Maybe the chickens had to cut back on the size of their eggs.

I asked a couple in the next booth if it looked like three eggs to them, but they wanted to stay out of it.

You're right you wouldn't be talking about "cut hours"...
Those people would be out of work.

Oh yeah, BTW...the Bush tax cuts were two "other" separate bills approved through reconciliation...

Did ya bitch about those also?

It depends on which one you hit. Some WH's will have a good jovial crew and the place can be a little noisy from the usual hustle and bustle of a fast pace diner.
