Just Left The Waffle House
My wife and i went to the WH Rest for a hamburger and chile. Our waitress said all there hours have been cut to 28 hours per week. Her check with all the new taxes and SS tax increase her check has dropped from $175.00 per week to $110.00 per week plus tips. Her Ins has gone up to $75.00 per week leaving her $35.00 per week plus tips. She is behind on there rent and lights and looks to be evicted any day now.
Yet obama can take a $4 Million dollar vacation and give out big pay raises while the little people are losing everything and cannot buy groceries. We could go into one hell of a recession before this is over.
With friends like obama we do not need any enemies.

I thought the entire Waffle House franchise survived solely because of drunk people at 2 a.m.

You may be thinking of the International House of Pancakes. I went to one in Atlanta about 2 a.m. (fairly sober) and ordered three scrambled eggs. The waitress brought me one. I had the cook personally confirm that it was "three eggs" before I got up and walked out.

Calling BS on this, sorry. "New taxes" that amounted to like 40% of net for someone with that low of an income? Which taxes are those again? Because the SS "increase" (which is technically not an increase, btw) only accounts for a couple percent .

You must have not read this part of his post ..."Our waitress said all there hours have been cut to 28 hours per week."
Just guessing, but I would imagine the cut in her hours played a part in the decrease as well....it wasn't ALL attributed to the 'new taxes'.

Ok, that makes sense. It's okay, we can always trust businesses to do the right thing, I'm sure that they'll reverse their decision to help that poor lady.

Calling BS on your partisan call. I assumed the OP was referring to a 40 hr paycheck vs. a 28 hr paycheck. And its the Obamacare taxes and mandates that have employers cutting the hours....

cut in hours caused the biggest drop and the cut in hours is the result of obama care when you are in that income bracket every little bit counts
The fact is business are cutting hours to get around obama care

You obviously have never worked for anything in your life, nor owned a business or employed anyone. A business owner's first obligation is to keep the doors open and the bills paid. No one's hours would have been cut if Obamacare had been voted down. Oh, wait a minute, it never was approved legally, two separate bills were approved through reconciliation....

Food is always good at WH. Plus they cook it right in front of you. Funny, i love the ambiance of regular people at WH. It sure beats the crap out of a Bar luncheon any day. WH reminds me a little of New Jersey diners and the fact that both my parents were immigrants. By the way, you can get a hell of a good steak at WH and the coffee is always good. I do admit my wife is not a big fan, but she has become spoiled and a bit of a snob over the years and prefers Ruth Cris, but will settle for Longhorn Steak.

Of course. Any of us actually IN business understand that. I just think your OP was confusing to some because of the usage of the words "taxes and SS tax increase" threw them a curve and thereby implied...to them...that the entire decrease in the waitress pay was due to HER tax increases.
For anyone NOT in business, it seems to be a very hard concept to grasp. For all of us in business, it is a second nature concept which is principle in core--you either cut expenses to mainting a bottom line, or you shut down. Period. Very simple actually but lefties, libbies, and govt lemmings (employees) do not grasp it easily...or in every case--not at all.
