If they're not lying and a breaker did trip, then the system did what it was supposed to do in terms of safety. Imagine if an electrical fire did happen or if a piece of equipment did blow up. That's an ever bigger nightmare. We got a better game out of it too.

He asked a question. I gave the answer I assumed to be correct...but I even stated I was unsure. (Thus my mentioning no example)

Truth is I don't know if its ever happened so if not than EVERYONE is only guessing.

I'm not trying to "rip" your post. When I asked you about your post, I was merely asking whether it was reliable information. You initially posted as if it was and I wanted to check before I treated it as reliable and passed it on. When you indicated it wasn't, I was curious why you posted if it wasn't reliable. So with message board conversation, posters can just say "I believe" and then make up whatever they want about a topic?

Relax, man! I didn't mean to get you so upset, but this is interesting.

I said right away that I was unable to cite an example. Not sure where I "initially posted" that it as a reliable opinion.

A friend of mine who works for Shaw Electric (contractor for Duke Power) knows several folks in Nawlins' who works for the utility provider, said it was an 'outside' problem, utility breaker, line fuse or something popped. Told me heads were going to roll over that oops.

Also depending on what type fixtures they were, most require a cool down period before you can turn them back on, even ones with re-strike capabilities still takes some time.
