The #2 beating #1 cannot be denied the #1 spot. The #4, us, having beat a top 20 opponent by double digits, I couldnt see a Duke passing us either. 6 lost...
We have to be #2.

@ Rupp is still going to be our toughest game this year, and actually if we keep "rolling" in the SEC that game probably gets amped up even more. Imagine if UF are #1 and 17-0 going into that game. No doubt it would be UK's most amped up crowd of the year by far.
|
Amped yes but I don't believe that's going to help KY. UF is better than KY this year. I personally don't believe Rupp is a tough place to play. Truth is, KY usually has everyone out-talented but that's not the case this year. Rupp holds a TON of people but those people are mostly very old and very nice. They are not rabid. They are not real loud. The students are NOT court side. Court side seats are reserved for monied fat cats (no pun intended but true both figuratively and literally). Seats are also NOT right on top of the court. Rupp's seats have a big gentle slope up and away from the court. The venue, except for sheer numbers and the history, is not imposing. UF rolls (again).

Agree. We got swept by Tennessee in our first national championship season. You don't judge a season based on a couple of regular season games.

Next up is Arkansas, and hopefully we have more than 3 free throws.

I am more concerned with getting a #1 seed for the tourney. We get that and I am a happy camper. Also it seems we are literally losing the entire team for next year, outside of Frazier what are we going to look like?

Yes you did stop our offense very well while there but yes I was holding a grudge. From the day you got here and every time I hear you speak and your excitement about coaching our Gators, working your tale off and being a straight shooter, you are now one of my all time favorite coaches. Thanks coach.

I'm sure Billy will tell them, whatever the ranking, to add a zero to the end of it and just keep on fighting to improve.

Our roster will be loaded next year. We lose Boynton, Rosario and Murphy and gain Finney-Smith (SF/PF), Damontre Harris (PF/C), Kasey Hill (PG) and Chris Walker (PF/C). All 4 of the new guys are studs.
Patrick Young may come back. Yeguete, Frazier, Prather, and Wilbekin come back with another year of experience.

All go on record as saying I would love to be No. 1. Naturally, it is best to be No. 1 at season's end. But it is still an honor to be voted No. 1 during the season and it is good for the program to receive the attention. I want to be No. 1.

I also think it is good for the program. Obviously it doesn't mean as much as final rankings but it is still good to get that kind of attention. I'd be more concerned if we had a bunch of young players who couldn't deal with it. This team has shown it plays hard every game. I don't see that changing with a #1 ranking. We are already have a target on our back from every remaining team on our schedule.

I also think we're going to be number 2, but mosty because I expect alot of the AP voters watched the IU/Michigan game, and came away impressed with IU. Meanwhile, I wouldn't have expected them to even watch the UF/Ole Miss game, and then seeing the boxscore, all they'd see is another ho hum double digit win.

Huh? Every Gator should have a deep hatred of UK basketball, but the Gator's season does not hinge on beating them. The tourney is the only barometer on our season.
Beating UK means little in the grand scheme of things, but every Gator should be foaming at the mouth at the change to really hand it to them this year.

I think that UK has the most talent in the SEC this year. Winning at home is no guarantee.

If by talent, you mean NBA potential players, perhaps. But we are the more talented team THIS year.
