Geraldo may run for senate in NJ
I cant see a scenario where this will end well, but will make for an entertaining race:
Quote:
Geraldo Rivera, 69, the bombastic Fox News commentator who has made his share of controversial statements throughout his career announced on his radio show Thursday that he may very well run for Senate in New Jersey as a Republican to challenge long-time incumbent Senator Frank Lautenberg or Newark Mayor Cory Booker who has indicated he will run for the office.
“Fasten your seat belt,” he told his audience. “I am and have been in touch with some people in the Republican Party in New Jersey. I am truly contemplating running for Senate against Frank Lautenberg or Cory Booker in New Jersey.”
“I figure, at my age, if I’m going to do it, I’ve got to do it,” Rivera added.

Based on a lot of his reporting on FOX I was honestly surprised to see that if he runs it will be as a Republican. No thanks. We've got more than enough RINO's already.

I take it you've never seen any of his screaming matches with Bill O'Reilly and Michelle Malkin over immigration reform and other issues.
And btw I hope you weren't suggesting that "bombastic, phony, attention addict" are typical "R" characteristics. If so I will gladly go name-for-name for you on bombastic, phony, attention addict Democrats vs. Republicans and we'll see who can list the most.

Don't project your lack of candor onto me, please. Quite obviously Rush Limbaugh is the very definition of a bombastic attention-addict, although I'm not aware of anything particularly "phony" about him.
So now it's my turn. Bombastic attention-addict Democrat? Chris Matthews. Although there too I don't know that he's a phony, per se. For that matter Geraldo Rivera doesn't seem like a phony either so I don't know why you included that word in the otherwise accurate description.

The only thing worse than a Democrat being reelected would be Geraldo Rivera becoming a Senator. Lets just keep him as the bombastic liberal dope that we know and tolerate.

You know the state better than anyone here along with Jersey.
I kinda hope he does though just for the popcorn factor, have to think that Booker is the odds on favorite regardless.

Well, keep in mind this is New Jersey after all so it's possible! Take a look at their Governor!

I don't think it has much to do with New Jersy than it does with Geraldo. As my brother likes to say, he is a media whore.

If you have actually listened to him, his views are more liberal than conservative. Among his views is that holding prisoners at Gitmo without trial is a violation of their rights.
It will no doubt come as a great surprise to those who know nothing of his background to learn that he started practicing law in a very small streetfront office in Harlem.

Is he even from Jersey? Booker is losing steam in Newark. He's no lock since he ticked off unions recently.
It's hard to do worse than Lautenberg(er) and Menendez. Real hard. Although the Torch set the pace years ago.
Al Leiter (former pitcher and Gator decommit) is from Jersey. He expressed an interest in politics years ago. Maybe he'll run
