Speaking of tolerance...I guess you don't support my right to have an opinion on this since you don't like what my opinion is. Is that a correct assumption?

I didn't find your comment off-putting in the least. But that's probably because I consider grown-up germs like yourself amusing.

Not that I don't admire the creativity and flexibility.

So based on that alone, it turned out the second coming was kept secret from all history and that the promised fruit of the kingdom was this craphole we call the world. Sounds legit.

Your opinion does not come across as respectful by any stretch of the imagination. In fact it comes across as degrading. Hey, I get that religious bigotry is in vogue in certain circles

So because I don't believe that things are as you say they are, my opinions are religious bigotry?
I am sorry that you feel my beliefs are degrading. I'm sure that I feel a lot of what you believe to be true as degrading.
I respect your right to feel how you do, as long as you don't try to preach and pass it along as if it is fact and there is no other possible explanation for things.

If Jesus has already come back, where is he?
And for the record where is the Ark of the Covenant and Joseph Smith's stuff?

Actually, I am as genuine as they come.
You do know there are people out there that don't believe in Jesus and/or God the way you do and some that don't believe in Jesus and/or God at all.
Are you okay with that?

Now it looks like you're just angry and disillusioned with Jesus like the Pharisees were.

But I'll bet you have to stifle a chuckle at least 75% of the time.

Is that 75% of all of your posts or 75% of the 75% (thus 56.25%) where you are trying to be funny?

If there was one idea I would think I could get any Christian to agree with... or any non-Christian, even. That I could get even the harshest atheist to agree with, if they would concede, arguendo, that the Gospel is a true and accurate account. That idea would be that Jesus' promised return would be neither ambiguous nor underwhelming.
The fundamental flaw in preterism is that it requires, core belief, that the second coming was entirely ambiguous and completely underwhelming, so much so that nobody felt inclined to jot it down or tell the neighbors about it.

It's a win-win for me. Either it's working better than half the time, and you're just not admitting it, or you're just a fuddy-duddy, philosophical equivalent of a pickup truck driver.

It was over the top, but I was making a point about my beliefs in general.
You dismiss them because it doesn't go along with what you believe.
What if I am offended by some of your beliefs?

How can you assure this? How can you assure that Jesus ever existed?
These are beliefs and opinions.
If I believe otherwise, that makes me a religious bigot and degrading?

I have faith in plenty of things.
Your faith in what you have stated is just that...faith. Its not absolute and it doesn't mean you are right and that others are wrong. Doesn't mean I am right. These are just opinions. I am tolerant of your opinions as long you don't try to shove them down my throat or claim that they are 100% fact.
Not sure why you can't be tolerant of my opinions. I don't really care either way if you are or what you think about me. I was just making the point about you not being tolerant. If that is how you choose to live, that is fine with me.
We can just agree to disagree.

What you posted was not simply an opinion. It was a slur and was disrespectful of the deeply held faith of many posters here. And you knew that when you posted it. These kinds of insults won't gain you any respect on this board.
