Lots of us admittedly frustrated. Nothing against the guy, but it just isn't working the way it should at a place like FSU. Losing out on Golson and Kirkland sucks, especially when Golson was 'committed' for well over a year and Ole Miss swoops in at the last second though the scuttlebutt is his girlfriend is going there or something.
Definitely need to bring in some more tackles. Kerr is listed as a TE but he will most definitely RS. They are projecting him to OT, but his a project for sure. Lost both JUCOs from last year, though he hit a home run with Watson, only problem was there was no one on base, so to speak.
Austin Droogsma was/is a nice OL prospect but apparently he doesn't want to play football and instead will go to FSU on a track scholly though I wouldn't be shocked if someone tried to talk him into taking a football scholarship and giving it a go.
Hoefield is center.
Denson is a really nice looking prospect, but again, he is an interior guy.
They totally whiffed at OT.
Someone joked that Trickett's #1 pipeline is gonna be Haggins's defensive line guys.
Georgio Newberry played OT in high school and he apparently has the skills to do it but he isn't interested, wants to stay at DE which is a shame because while there isn't a lot of experienced depth, there is talent with Edwards and Casher and the new guys coming in. Walker looks like he could contribute. The young guys are gonna play, a lot.
If I had to guess either Bobby Hart (a shame he hasn't redshirted as he enrolled at 16) is gonna take the RT spot or Matias will move and there will be a competition of his spot at G.
Hard to take issue with the rest of the class. Added a nice DT and we are loaded there anyway. LB is great. Got some nice DBs. Didn't really need a QB, though Franklin is a nice looking athlete. No huge name at WR, but nice numbers and we have a buncha guys coming back. Ryan Green is a really nice looking RB. Maybe would have liked to have gotten another star at DE but Davarez Bryant looks like maybe one of those diamonds in the rough. If there is one thing Jimbo does well it is finding off the map guys like Bjoern Werner and Menelik Watson. Thank God we did sign Wilson Bell.
We'll see. The OL is salvageable this season, but it's '14 where things could get really, really precarious.

All you need to know is that they play on Ron Zook Field.

I agree if you can keep your 5 starters completely healthy the entire year, its salvageable. But what are the chances of that. Seriously, if ya'll lose 1 of your tackles this season, its lights out for whoever is taking snaps.
Reality will set in late November. Its going to be ugly.

I would have to say that Samdingo's post is the best case scenario...most optimistic...not reality based view of the REFsu class.
I think your class was lacking. The failed OL recruiting is going to continue to cost your team as it has been for the past few years. The schedule was as easy as it gets and still you barely squeaked into the ACC title game.
Your "BCS game" was also a freaking gift matchup and once we have any kind of playoff, your chances at a national title are reduced to rubble.
That class isn't helping...it's a failure in the trenches.

FSU only had one bad year on OL within the past few years (the year before last). Last year was a good year for the OL. 3 OL in this class wasn't enough, but could still pick up some JUCO guys. OL this coming season should be pretty good. FSU has the numbers and talent to be good in 2013. 2014 is going to need a boost. The three guys that came in this year will have to pan out. Miss and it could get ugly. I think FSU needs to take a bunch of OL next cycle. Overall, defensive recruiting was great. I think FSU did great, considering the coaching turnover in this cycle.

considering they lost like 6 coaches, they should be doing some kind of whoop whoop Indian dance over there.

FSU did lose 6 coaches and. . . exactly.
FSU's class was ranked 9th this year, 2nd last year, 1st the year before that, and 6th in 2010. That's 4 top ten classes in a row. I am, by the way, only basing this on ESPN rankings. Scout, rivals, etc. . . are podunk little organizations, comparatively. OL recruiting is a little weak, but not terrible. FSU is looking good to me.

Your OL will be good next year. Well, until the last game, when they will be horrible. It sucked last year and ya'll lost the only player with real talent. Does fsu even have 2 OT's?

Didn't suck last year. FSU averaged 5.5 yards per carry or so. Weren't all that bad against UF either, 2 sacks, 4.5 yards a carry rushing, leading in the 4th quarter with 5 turnovers. Turning it over was bad, yes.
And yes, FSU has at least 2 OTs, but it is a position without much depth. I don't think anyone expected Watson to go pro after one year, but he was a beast. Cam Erving (LT) is a good player.

Any skill player that signs with FSU only does so because they are scared to compete against quality competition. FSU plays an ACC foosball schedule against ACC foosball talent.

Ash,
Your pipe dream, never admit your team lost because they got their ass kicked, talk alot before the game then disappear afterwards, act isn't impressing me.
We are going to trounce you again this coming year. Put up a bet that means something or stick a sock in it.
Nobody cares what your average was against that laughing stock you called a schedule last year. It was pathetic.

Why does everyone think Pruitt is gonna be a good defensive coordinator. Yes he can recruit. But he has never coached a defense. Plus FSU is goin to change from a typical 4-3 to a hybrid Muschamp/Saban 3-4. It's gonna be an adjustment

Wilson Bell is a nice OL prospect with a mean streak. Bell and Tunsil will be talking a lot of crap to the opposing team over the next 4 years.

Their current personell in the front 7 may not be right for a 3/4.

I guess we must count the 38 yards that E.J. ran for on 4 carries in the last drive, but when you needed to run when it counted you couldn't get a yard to move the chains. I doubt you felt so great about that line play when you were watching the game, but go ahead and allow those garbage time stats to cloud your judgement again. We hope that Trickett and his "recruits" continue to impress the fanbase.

It's not. Their LB's are way too small. They have the DL for it though. It would be a disaster. Interesting to see how Pruitt adjust to FSU players after being around Bama's players.

He also didn't include the first lame duck pick EJ threw because he was getting blasted in the chest. Or the fumble at the end when EJ got knocked out because the OL collapsed. I could go on all day. In fact, I may watch that game again just to see how pooor that OL really was.

Did you mean to put an extra "o" in pooor??
Either way... I think that you are very correct!

My pipe dream? According to you, this is what I actually do, so how is it a pipe dream? Perhaps you mean to referent your pipe dream (not mine)? As, I was here after FSU lost for the 1st time in 3 years to the Gators. In fact, I posted I think for the better part of 10 pages. Look it up. In any case, I think most people would feel as I do about a game if their team turned over 5 times and yet, still lead in the 4th quarter. That's called shooting yourself in the foot.

I doubt it. I suspect that UF is going to crash down to earth a bit next year. You guys had a lot of shoestring victories and no real offense to speak of. You are a QB injury away from disaster. But, either way, I don't anticipate FSU turning the ball over 5 times again. Should be a good game.
