Both of those rim-hanging incidents are BS. In both cases there was a player beneath them. They were not hanging to celebrate, they were doing it for safety. You are allowed to do it for safety. Garbage calls.
But I totally agree with leaving points on the board in the first half. We were way too sloppy on offense and missed way too many easy buckets.

Oh! I thought Billy was pissed at the refs; if not, he should have been. Refs should not be calling that if there is any doubt at all that the player can drop to the floor without landing on someone. In this case, Boynton was right there. I'll gladly take the tech rather than risk a season-ending injury caused by dropping down onto someone else's foot or something.
I thought Yeguete's previous tech was a bad call also, although he did do a partial pull-up. But, those are usually not called unless it's a full pull-up where the head gets to the rim.

Yeguete's technical was an easy call and the right one. Rosario's was not.
In defense of Will, however, I watched Nerlens Noel do a chin-up just two nights ago against Ole Miss, and no technical was called.

I disagree on Will's call. He was pulling himself up while looking down to avoid getting tangled with other people beneath him. He was not doing it to show off. There were people under him hitting his legs.

Well that is one way to look at it but I you want to take off your gator glasses you may see it differently and correctly.

Nope, no gator glasses. Everyone who sees my posts here knows I play it objectively.

I disagree on Rosario's call... It was the right call and and easy one to make. It's one thing to hang on a little long because of someone beneath you, but you can't swing back and start to pull yourself up.

Casey Prather started his comeback tonight. I was glad to see him get a few minutes.

Jeff - I, for one, did not call him crazy. I merely said it was unlikely.
It is appearing more likely, but we are still less than 40% through the Conference Schedule (actually 39% - 7/18), and that is simply too early to make any predictions.
However, few opponents are looking very dangerous right now - perhaps Tennessee or maybe possibly Ky in the last game - at Rupp and Knoxville, those teams are always difficult.

Something with the timing with this one. Don't get me wrong, I do NOT think we will lose. But I have a feeling we may choose not to play great tonight. Which is fine. Having just come off the road, midweek game, Ole Miss looming for a big game Saturday. I could see tonight being a bit frustrating.
Despite Ole Miss' loss, I do think Saturday is still a very big game. And one in which we will dominate.

I agree with UFreak. The call on Yeguete earlier in the season was clearly wrong. He even looks down to make sure he doesn't land on anyone.

Rosario wasn't even looking to see if anyone was below him. He hung on too long and got the T. It was at the basket right in front of me and was surprised that Doug Shows didn't call it actually.

He didn't have to look, Kenny B was actually touching his legs while he was on the rim.

Thanks Jeff, what I predicted was there was an 80% chance. I would be a lot happier for the team, and the fans, if that happened than my predictive ability.
