I would be shocked if he survives, with or without media coverage. Campaign irregularities people can get away with sadly, but not underage girls, and make no mistake, the Feds were targeting the senator with that raid.

Menendez is a Dem, who are absolutely untouchable in an election year. When no one is paying attention, which is 90% of the time in Lawyerland, then who knows what will happen, especially since he doesn't have heavy ties to the fringe left establishment that rules DC.

As usual if this was a Repub the NOW (National Organization of Women) would be mounting a program to force Repub to resign and to have him arrested, convicted, and jailed.
NOW has a very strong position against Human Trafficking. They are providing Menendez cover because he is a Liberal Dem and a big Tim NOW backer.

Oh he'll give it a fight for sure, but there is an investigation and if he slept with under age girls he can't escape the inevitable.

Do you think Christie would appointment a republican to complete Menedez's term or would a special election be necessary? It would not surprise me if Christie would appoint a democrat, if it would get him more New Jersey votes.

Christie would choose his replacement....but
Quote:
19:3-26. If a vacancy shall happen in the representation of this State in the United States senate, it shall be filled at the general election next succeeding the happening thereof, unless such vacancy shall happen within 70 days next preceding such election, in which case it shall be filled by election at the second succeeding general election, unless the governor of this State shall deem it advisable to call a special election therefor, which he is authorized hereby to do.
The governor of this State may make a temporary appointment of a senator of the United States from this State whenever a vacancy shall occur by reason of any cause other than the expiration of the term; and such appointee shall serve as such senator until a special election or general election shall have been held pursuant to law and the Board of State Canvassers can deliver to his successor a certificate of election.

As anything else with NJ, it gets a little complicated

I heard it would be Joseph Kyrillos who is a state senator that ran against Menendez in the general election

The difference is most on the right can admit FOX's bias. Very few (on the left) will admit to the rest who lean left.

Oh Dave, I have missed you!
