Certainly earlier candidates in our history received votes from one demographic....only white males had the right to vote. The current criticism toward the black vote ignores the vote from other minorities, youth and women. Also ignored here is the many white males who held their noses and voted for Romney because he was the white candidate.
Are you implying that if Hillary runs in 2016, that she would get anywhere near 95% of the female vote? And what white males held their noses while voting for Romney? I don't know of any. My entire neighborhood of perhaps 900 homeowners was 90% for Romney. None of us held our noses. Our wives and kids didn't either. We disagree with Obama's policies and do not feel piling on an additional $10 T in debt over 2 four year terms is in our best interest.
And while Rome is burning (with high long term unemployment, low economic growth, increasing debt and NO budget) Obama the idiot is our campaigning for Immigration reform, Gun Control and Gay Marriage. Huh? I think we have more pressing issues. And he knows we do too...these are distractions...to keep the clueless and dependent attention away from what really matters....THE ECONOMY.

I have a partner in one of my businesses that is married to a black guy. His whole family says they voted for Obama because he is better for business. Needless to say, as an owner of multiple businesses, I told them they were ignorant, blind, stupid, or all of the above.

And Obama's platform appealed to these constiuencies for what reason? And black business owners likely did not vote for Obama but would not admit it. I would guess blacks and minorities voted for him because they think he will fight for more freebies for them. And "single" women have been looking to Democrats to be their sugar daddy for years.
The truth is, Romney's platform scared the chit out of the mooches, slackers, misfits and government dependent as he (Romney) and most of the informed voters know our present path is unsustainable.

And should Romney have won the election, congress would be focused on tax simplification, entitlement reform, corporate tax reform, energy initiatives and issues that build business and consumer confidence.

Big business is like a huge vaccum cleaner, sucking money and assets out of this country. There's no mindset to reinvest in America.....it's about corporate profit and greed. If Romney had won, now would be the time that we'd be starting to hear a lot of outcry from African Americans about the relatively poor state of their community compared to other Americans. But 0bama won. So...no outcry. In fact, not a peep.

Yawn. You would have everyone work for the state or government because you did. Sorry, we can't afford for everyone to be a local, state or government employee. America became the most prosperous, generous country in the history of the world because of the free enterprise system, those risking everything they had and working their asses off. And the opportunities created by these entrepeneurs gave 10s of millions of others a chance. And created revenues for state and local governments to pay police, firemen, teachers and others.
The revenue doesn't just automatically flow.

Dave, my entire family held our noses when voting for McCain. Re Romney, though we don't agree with all his positions, we felt the country needed someone "business friendly" rather than "business hostile". I doubt Romney's focus would be on immigration, gun control and gay rights when the economy continues to be anemic. Like him or not, he's forgotten 1000 times more than Numbnuts has ever known about business, why take risks, why invest and why divest and without economic growth there are alot of boats stuck on the beach/bottom or wrecked on coral reefs. While Pubs allowed the bad policies concerning home ownership finance rules to continue under their watch, I believe it it disingenuous for you to say they "in large part, caused the crash". It clearly has roots as far back as 1977 when Jimmy Carter was Pres and the CRA Act was passed. It was really Pres Bubba that got the train rolling though. Plenty of blame to go around but it was liberal policies and pressure that was ultimately responsible for the crash IMO..
