At least ONE Gator will win a Super Bowl ring this Sunday
Either San Fran's Ray McDonald or - surprise! - DEONTE THOMPSON will become a Super Bowl champ this weekend.
I always joked to others that despite DT's lackluster play at UF, someday he'd go on to be on a Super Bowl-winning team. Now it might happen!

Can't pull for the Ravens because of Lewis. Not a niners fan either.
I'm pulling for the commercials

I'm rooting for Ray McDonald and the 49ers. At least Ray is a Gator that contributes to his teams success. Thompson's ring would be meaningless.

Both of them have NC rings as well... that's pretty rare to win both, I think.

Rooting for the Niners, but I think the Ravens win. Who's favored anyway?

As of today, Deonte is on the active roster. The kid has done well for having nobody to throw to him at Florida. Brantley was horrible, not even a D1 QB. I take my hat off for Deonte's hard work and determination. One of only 2 free agent rookies to make the squad.
Ray is doing very well for himself. He's awsome. Ray didn't have to worry about who was throwing pass's.
Both guy's represent the Gator Nation at the highest level. Good for them and may the best team win.

I'm a Niners fan and rooting for RayMac.
San Fran is favored by 3.5, but I think Ravens may win this one. All I'm hearing about is how much the Ravens need to win this one for Ray Lewis.

The Ravens seem to be a team of destiny that will win it all plus Flacco has more game experience than Kaepernick.

Aren't they from the same high school, or at least the same area? The Glades will have a champ either way. Pretty cool.

I'm with you on this one. Two weeks to prepare for a 2nd year QB in a college offense. Baltimore D is going to mindhump Kaepernick.

This just in, We Landed On The Moon!!
And to the poster above, I'm not sure how many Gators have both a NC & SB ring, but I believe Justin Trattou does.

A NC plus a Super Bowl for either, but that would be ironic for Deonte.
I think he worked hard at UF and always liked him as a person. I'll be happy for either.
I don't have a rooting interest in the game but think it will be a good one.

Brantley is the 8th most productive passer in UF history, despite starting just two years and being injured early in both.
Deonte is a good kid who I think worked hard at it, but UF really needed a solid WR every year he was here and he just wasn't. Don't blame Brantley for that.
