Online campaign to get Matt Bonner in the 3 point shooting contest all star weekend

Was watching the Spurs game tonight and they were talking about it, MAtt leads the league in 3 point shooting but isn't invited. So some fans have taken to social media to try and get him added. Apparently Kobe is on his side and called him the red mamba. When Matt was asked about that, he said "there are only 2 mambas, and I am one of them" lol.

Well the campaign worked:

The internet campaign to get Matt Bonner into the NBA’s Three-Point Contest paid off last night when the Concord High graduate was selected to compete in the annual All-Star Saturday Night event.

“From the bottom of my heart, I would like to thank everyone who supported me in getting selected to compete in the Three-Point Contest,” Bonner said in a statement posted on the San Antonio Spurs website. “Words cannot express how excited and honored I am to be a part of this event. I will do my best! Thank you!”

Bonner’s brother, Luke, wrote a letter to the NBA last month urging the league to include Bonner in the contest. A Facebook page was created in support of Bonner’s inclusion.
