Coach Durkin did, when he called him and said, his grades were too risky. My guess is Powell commits again.

Powell doesn't have the green light to commit right now

Andrew, how are things with Ramsey? There is a lot of FSU smoke.

Where did F$U come from with Ramsey? Is this Priuit's doing as well?

It makes sense if he wants to come in and get on the field immediately. We're deeper at corner than arguably any other position on the team. He will not start next year, and it's not even up for debate.

Now I know you don't really mean that, man. We've got three corners who would compete to earn All-conference honors at any school in the country next year, another guy (Poole) who's so talented, that they have to toy with the idea of moving him to safety just get him on the field. Cody Riggs is a guy I'm really high on, and he could start at about 100 other schools across the country next season. And then there's the #1 high school corner in the country on his way in this fall. What am I missing?
I want Ramsey too. But he won't start next year for the Florida Gators.

Well, that looks good for this year, but what about the near future? Watkins, Brown and Riggs are all gone after 2013. And it seems like there's a non-zero chance that, with solid junior performances, one or both of Roberson and Purifoy could bolt to the NFL.
Then...we're kind of screwed.
That's why getting another corner is, to my mind, the highest priority remaining.

I didn't count VH3 in that remark. He is a sure fire stud.
Oh, and what maddux said. Ramsey could easily lock down a starting spot his So. year.

Riggs actually earned a medical redshirt. So, he has two more years. Watkins leaves after this season and, being realistic, you'd have to think both Roberson and Purifoy bolt with solid junior seasons. That still leaves us with a solid three-man rotation of Poole, Riggs and Hargreaves, so I wouldn't call that "screwed". Sure, Hargreaves hasn't played a down, but he's as close to a sure thing as it gets. We already know that the staff loves Poole. Nick Washington could also end up at corner.
You are right, though. I'd definitely feel better adding another one to this class. My point was simply that a top-ten prospect-like Ramsey-at corner almost always feels that he can come in and start immediately. Hargreaves is a Gator. He was coming here regardless of who we have on scholarship; Ramsey may be looking to come in and not only play, but start from day one. It would be tough to do that at Florida.

Fair enough. I was wondering about his status.
Hargreaves-Poole-Riggs isn't awful, but then it's not exactly a situation that gives me the warm fuzzies either, especially when the only depth behind them is going to be unproven and young (maybe Washington, as you say, plus the freshmen corners from the '14 class). No one in that group has a proven ability to play truly excellent corner at the SEC level. Hargreaves and Poole might get there, but until they do I'm going to be wary of that alignment.
Man, I wish we had gotten Howard last year.

If you can't overestimate our quality of depth, you can't overestimate anyone's.
