Out of our listed targets, I feel 60% sure we're not getting 6 of them. Swanson, Reed/Bostwick, Clark/Timmons, Ramsey is my guess. Even that's iffy. Adams isn't coming to Florida, Collins isn't, M. Alexander isn't. This class is amazing, I just don't think there are many other kids who are going to be in the class. I would like to be wrong though

Ira Denson is an enigma. All we've heard is our coaches don't want him...too slow, not agile enough to ever be a good pass blocker, bad weight, etc.
But he's done nothing but shoot up the recruiting rankings, moving even higher every time there's a re-ranking (now #55 overall on TOS). This is based on combines, camps and all-star games.
Clearly a case where all the experts' opinions are in direct opposition to how our coaches view him. We'll have to see who gets this one right.

I would like that as a final haul by position AZ, and I too see Denson as a very long shot. This is based purely on the apparent lack of interest expressed by our coaches.
It's almost as though someone with a valued opinion on our staff is black balling the kid.
It does leave me confused, because he's ranked highly by every service I have seen.
Why not take him as an extra body?
I would gladly take one more 4 star OL and forgo another WR in this year's class. But, of course, it all depends on who is accepting our offers.

Man, it feels good to rock the orange and blue. Knowing that under Muschamp the talent will always flow in, the defense will always be sick, Georgia and South Carolina can battle it out for second place in the east. There's a new source of arrogance that comes with Muschamp roaming around on the sideline. I mean, my conversations out in public don't even feel the same anymore...

He's not overrated at all. That's just the garbage spewed by a certain person here.

I checked with my friend who's got some inside roads at FSU and he told me 4 recuits he knows of have shown some doubts about the mass coaching exodus over there, and this was about noon today when I got that e-mail.
They're wavering some, but he thinks they could lose perhaps two when all is said and done, both on the offensive side of the ball. I think they could eventually end losing as many as five if Fisher and his new assistants don't exact damage control asap.

Don't think for a moment our coaches don't know this and will go after Denson if the opening is there, especially with UF OL Tommy Jordan getting a medical hardship after his career-ending shoulder injury. Denson could fit right in at UF.
What I'm guessing is that Denson and Whitfield are the main threats to leave and they've lost any shot at Collins with Gran and the OC gone IMO.

I think they've lost out on Kirkland, but that's just personal opinion.

Like I said, it's what I heard from a former FSU player inside the program over there, but recruiting is fickle and includes a lot of guesswork too as we all know.
Denson isn't happy there because of Corley's departure but as interesting as it is to see Denson rated so highly, you're absolutely correct that he's not a hot commodity either.
I myself think he would be a good back-up on OL for us though.

Took the post out of my finger tips. He apparently showed out at the AA game. If he were comitted to nebraska or Cal, I could see not taking a chance, but if he goes to fsu and ends up being the real deal, that will be a tough pill to swallow. I'd take him without a second thought on that horrible thought alone, not to mentions he seems to be pretty good.

It is pretty odd that the staff seemingly has no interest in a highly rated player at a position of need such as Denson.

I don't get the denson thing. we have room, we always need ol depth, and he won't cost us anyone... worst case scenario he leaves in two years (a player rated #55 in the country isn't going to hang around to not play) after being an insurance policy and we go get someone new to work in when our depth is much better. plus it screws over fsu. unless the kid is just an ass, what am I missing.

But AZ said he can't pull well enough to be a part of this offense. Plus, as our Latino brethren would say, his footwork is "no good".
He can't come here.

Tough to argue with our Latino brethren
