I said last week I'd be perfectly fine winning one of these two away games, and I stand by that. I think the Vols have a pretty potent offense this year, but if Saturday's second half was any indication, it might not matter. I think this will be another fairly low scoring affair.
27-17 Gators.

I think our clock control and defense will keep this a low scoring affair. I doubt anyone will get 30 points. If someone does hopefully it is us! I like what I saw last Saturday during the second half. It would appear we have what it takes...now execution, coaching and a desire to win will have to take over. Very exciting...Go Gators.

After watching last year's replay of the TN game, I like this year's team much better. More focused. Obviously we're not NC-caliber right now, but it reminds me of the difference between the 07 and 08 team. The 07 team was always clowning around (IMO), and the 08 team was very focused.

This is a significant game for us. Win this one and we are unstoppable.

Mark Maye picked Tennessee! He is in absolute awe of QB Tyler Bray! Thought he was going to go ahead and pick him for the Heisman, but he didn't.

Smart man. Did you see those passes by Bray in the highlights? Amazing player. Should be the Heisman IMO. Tennessee would be a lot worse without him, Justin Hunter, and Cordarrelle Patterson.

I'd rather suffer through another game with Mustyberger than to listen to that Justice Sonia Sodamayor/ Bill Nelson video ad that keeps coming on every time I try to post....

Bray will be the difference. We HAVE to stop him (or at least contain him) Will our secondary be up to the challenge? I'm very nervous about this one. Going to be a war, just like A&M was. The O line will HAVE to play awesome, 'cause we may need to put up some serious numbers. I wouldn't mind seeing us try a few trick plays this Saturday, if our running game isn't up to snuff. I also would love to see some designed runs for driskel. Can't wait!

Yeah and did you see the caliber defenses of the teams he was playing against?
Sorry, none of those teams have a defense with a good secondary like Florida.
Did you see how tight Florida's defense played those Texas A&M receivers in the 2nd half?
They couldn't get separation because Florida was guarding them so well.
The Heisman??? You've got to be kidding. Maybe a candidate but the season just started and it's way too early to declare him as winner. He's only played in 2 games. The kid hasn't played in a big game yet this season.

Interesting quote from that Jacksonville newspaper article.

Last season, the Vols finished with minus-9 rushing yards against the Gators. During its seven-game win streak over Tennessee, UF has outrushed the Volunteers 1,083-325.

For those that may be interested, we have been posting the scores/years of this great rivalry in the opening post on page 1. With some notes, of course, at times about some some of these games. May bring back some memories!
Not sure if I'll have time to get them all in but we'll try!

Watch the games. Study the teams your opponents play before acting like they have bad secondaries. Sure, Bray made NC State's secondary look bad, but in reality they're one of the best secondaries in the nation. NC State's D had the most picks of anyone last season including All Americans David Amerson's 13 INT's. Well Amerson got burnt on three td's by Bray/Patterson . NC State has a very very good secondary even though it didn't look like it when the Vols were done. They had three INT's the next week against Connecticut, but 0 against Bray.
David Amerson was projected as a top 10 draft pick, after Bray and the Vol receivers torched him so bad in that game some people wondered if he'd even get drafted
