Ship numbers update???
Where is Fox with his great spreadsheet?
Best I can recall...
13 SRs
4 NFL Jumps
6 Transfers (and counting): Mann, Bailey, Saunders, Patchen, Brissett & Johnson
7 Open ships under the 85 limit (Was 77, but then Garcia took one ship)
That is 30 total open ships for 2013. The SR Class next year will have 16 if I recall and there will be the normal 2-4 transfers/medical etc. So while I don't expect us to take 30 players in this class, I would like to confirm the my numbers.
I would not be surprised to see more transfers include a QB, RB, OL, TE, DE and OLB.

Seems to change by the hour, for us anyway. My guess is that the coaches aren't too surprised by anything that happens this time of year.

30 is up to date and we have 26 commits. Looks like we will sign 30 out of WR/DE/DT/TE/FB.
Do we take back Quinton Powell at LB if he begs back into the class?
For a change, I'd like to see UF get as close to 85 as possible without going over. I want to get back to reloading rather than rebuilding.

30 is correct, for now.
With 8 EE's, this class could have up to 33 (25+8) players max should 3 more players transfer.

Don't want to end up short on available ships next year. Lots of talent on the board. With recent reliance on JUCO interior linemen, we'll need to go heavy to replace guys that are just here for two years. We need TEs, probably more LBs and the usual number of RBs and DBs. You'd have to project four or five out of this class leaving early. It's never too soon to try to find their replacements.

We should fill all 30 spots. You dont save scholarships if good players want to join.

Next years class will be smaller than this one, but still should be 20-22 at a minimum. That is when programs can really focus on quality and focus on the best of the best.

We have 26 right now, and I expect about two more and we're done unless someone else big-time wants in.

I don't think we would stop taking players, per-say, just that I just don't think we're going to get "every" player we want. Do you think we hit 30 in this class?
Myself, I just want one more DT and Buck/DE in this class and I'm doing the Snoopy Dance.

I hope we get Swanson, Collins, Adams, and Daniel. I'd like to get Ramsey or Alexander, but the FB position is important and we're loaded at DB

It matters how long they can get the plan B and C guys to hold off their commitment to other school. There are more players that the staff is talking to than the usual suspects people like Raph Andrades

Andrades wanted big-time to be a Gator, and I still believe he's a Doering in the rough.

The year prior we took Graham Stewart.
Say James Clark decides to be a Gator and we have an extra scholarship on signing day a kid like his teammate DE Davarez Bryant could end up a Gator
Here are his hihglights he has offers from Louisville and Kentucky he will vist both soon

We should take 30. The silly notion that we should save ships for the next year has killed our depth the last few years.

I agree...it's time to take the maximum. You take as many as you can or want as I can't remember the last time we had a full squad of players.

25 + 8 = 33. I say fill it up and get into reload mode. That fill up mark right now is 30. If we have any more transfers add for that up to the 33 max.
Starting at 77 not counting the 2 walkons with ships, we got into trouble with depth as the season progressed and the injuries mounted. SC is under a NCAA punishment limit of 75. Why would we hold back ships which has the effect of a self imposed probation? You can bet bama and LSU start fall practice with 85..........

Actually he wanted to be a Nole but Jimbo told him he was to small and didn't offer him.
My girlfriend's daughter is good friends with Andrades, they graduated together from Lincoln High and still talk regularly.
After the UF/FSU game RA went up to Jimbo and told him he should of signed him and then walked off.

Nothing could be further from the truth. Don't know where you get your info from my friend, but it is ALL fabricated.
