Framed for a murder he didn't commit, Kennard Swanson flees Gainesville in disgrace, searching for a safe haven.
Finding comfort in the understanding arms of an Ocala single mother, and becoming a surrogate father to her deaf yet brilliant young son, Swanson sets out on the open road, righting wrongs and searching for an opportunity to clear his name.
Or something like that.

I thought I read UF was waiting on grades before offering or he was waiting on grades before accepting.

Another site says Swanson is on hold. Even though he was allowed to visit, I wonder if there are still grade concerns?

His past semester grades are out next week. If he made qualifying grades, he's in the class.

Hopefully this sends a positive, life-reinforcing message.

Not that it applies to Swanson, but the out of state kids have it tough if they haven't been talking to UF since summer. There are classes they have to take to get into UF that their advisors wouldn't have known to recommend. In Swanson's case, I think it's just his GPA, in which case, it was entirely within his power to pull up his GPA. The Daniel situation could have been a miscommunication between our admissions people and his guidance counselor regarding classes he needed to take.

If Daniel is a sign and place it's much more than just taking the wrong courses...

Daniel failed a necessary math class his last semester. Similar to the one that makes it tougher for any JUCO transfer to come to the SEC. The "dreaded math credit." It's that plain and simple. Also his ACT retake was better but still not good enough. That's it. No miscommunication.

You know the state of Florida is deep when its #100 ranked prospect (Swanson) is the nation's top fullback.
Hopefully he gets cleared. Joyer really helped spring a bunch of big runs this year, and he's the only true fullback on scholarship. Fullbacks aren't real exciting, but they're important in this offense. Swanson would be a great get.

In Zach A's article today, he says Swanson's past semester grades came in qualifying and that he would be signing an LOI on NSD. Swanson will have to work hard to stay qualified plus he still lacks qualifying SAT/ACT scores. Here is to hoping he gets everything done and reports with the other freshmen in June.
While there hasn't been a public announcement, Kennard Swanson makes commitment #28. One slot down and 5 to go.
Welcome aboard Kennard.

There is no reason a Florida State University System (SUS) school should not allow anyone in merely because of grades. If they pass the NCAA requirements, then the SUS allows one to accept any student with any background as an "Exception."
The fact that UF's Admissions office doesn't do this shows just how insanely head in the ground they are.
