Default Official Gator gun porn thread

For Christmas I got a 7.62 mm Nagant revolver (the standard sidearm of the Red Army in WWII) model 1895.

Totally outdated by WWII, the cylinder doesn't swing out...you have to unload each of the 7 chambers individually. The 98 grain target ammo made for it today is suitable for putting holes in paper or maybe shooting rabbits but not much beyond that. Fortunately, I was able to obtain the 108 grain Soviet military rounds which make it equivalent to about a .32 caliber revolver - not tremendously powerful but still lethal. Those rounds weren't cheap though.

Ultimately what I most want is the Pietta reproduction Le Mat revolver.

This puppy is reproduction 9 shot .44 caliber percussion pistol with a single shot 20 gauge shotgun under barrel. It was a favorite of the Confederate cavalry and proved to be a very effective weapon. Beautiful!

What do y'all have and what guns do you want to buy?

Sweet guns and great thread! I'm not a classic collector, but my father is a lot like you, and I'll end up with them.

Some of mine..

Most unique: German Lugar. Mint condition.
Fav: Browning Belgian A-5 light 12
Home defense: S&W .357 revolver
Office defense: Glock 27
Most used: Browning 270 stainless stalker with a BOSS... Straight tackdriver
Wanted: I want to pick up an AR for obvious reasons and I also don't have a 1911 yet, and they look cool.

I have a couple more I don't like to make public on the net...

Oh, Bow bonus: Diamond Black Ice.

Pics to follow later

The Luger 9mm Parabellum is another that from a technical standpoint was not that good of a weapon. Although very accurate, its construction was rather delicate and it was prone to jamming BUT....it was just so gorgeous it doesn't matter. Everybody loves them (as do I).

You can get a genuine WWII Luger Parabellum for about $2,000 if you shop around. The Le Mat reproduction is about $1,000. A real one that was actually used in the war and is in good condition will run you about $30,000 or so.

My brother recently got a Mauser 98 8mm rifle - the standard weapon of both the Imperial German army in WWI as well as the Wehrmacht in WWII. It was so advanced when it came out and so much better than anything the US had that the US govt. had Springfield Armory obtain a license to make the Springfield rifle (the standard weapon of the US in WWI) which was really just a Mauser knock-off.

You can buy them pretty cheaply (I think my brother only spent about $175 on his) but the 8mm ammo is not cheap.

My brother in law bought a Mosin Nagant 7.62mm rifle - the standard rifle of both the Imperial Russian Army in WWI as well as the Red Army in WWII. It cost him about $125.

My luger was given to me by my father. It was used in WWII. But the problem is it had been damaged at some point and the serial numbers of one single part doesn't match the rest. He also has a sweet german dagger and sheath he has framed. It was lifted off a killed oficer. I'll post pics of both when I go to his house again.

Yep JEB carried one. This is his hat and his Le Mat revolver in the Virginia museum of the Confederacy.

Several others carried them as well. The shotgun was tough on the wrists but devastating at close range. The design was a few years old already and was halfway between the old muzzle loaders and the rimfire cartridge revolvers that came later.

I think I have mentioned the only hand gun I have in the house is an 1860 44cal. Army Colt. The boogie man is safe around my house because it would take me 10 minutes to load all 6 cylinders. I had an 1851 38cal Navy but it got stolen. I love shooting black powder revolvers.

Just out of curiosity....I can just buy one without having to wait right? My understanding is that other than being 18, there aren't any restrictions for black powder guns and they could just mail one right to me if I bought it online rather than having to ship it to an FFL dealer where I would then have to pay for the background check and wait, etc. Is that right?

I've never had a black powder gun before. Hell, I've never even fired a black powder gun.

Correct, blackpowdere and shotguns can be sold on the spot. The only guns allowed to be owned by felons, btw, are classic flintlock type blackpowders.. Lol.

I have my grandfathers Lee Enfield from ww2. I recently took it all the way down and inspected it and re-assembled it after a really good cleaning. I plan on going to the range soon a shooting a box of shells and then mounting it in my office at home.
Wife just bought a Walther PPS .40. going Weds to shoot with her and get her up to speed on it.
Also have a couple of shot guns and a SKS with a sight.

I came for the porn but stayed for the guns. Lol

I went to the jacksonville gun show today. One hour in line to get in. Freaking awesome display. WAY too expensive. The Big AR 15 table was sold out before we got there at 9 o'clock. Fun show though.

I'm looking for a double action blued, 1911 .45 acp and I'd like to keep it at or around $500. Does anybody have any recommendations?

I've been shocked to see how cheap the Hi-Points Polys are. Are they OK or just total pieces of crap?

Something that looks like this

I've seen Mach 1 .45 cal acp's at between $400 and $450 as well as the Girsin 1911 series and a few others. Does anybody have any insights into any of these?

I've heard both sides on the hi-point pistols, but from what I've heard from my military and law enforcement com-padres, it's a good gun for the money. I've personaly owned a hi-point .45acp. I put ~250/300 rounds through it, sold it for 3x what I had in it. I never had FTF or FTE, no matter the ammo. Accuracy was par for the course.

My gun pron contribution/next gun

p.s. Check the Rock Island 1911, I haven't read many reviews, but I think they are in your price range

I've never had a black powder gun before. Hell, I've never even fired a black powder gun.
That is correct no background check for black powder guns unless things have changed. Keep in mind you will not be able to shoot black powder in most indoor ranges due to the smoke problem. I used to fill the cylinders with powder and cap them off with candle wax, basically you are shooting blanks. Scares the crap out of people at the new years eave party when you start shooting indoors. Caution, powder burns so never point the gun at anybody or anything you don't want powder burns on.

And don't pull a Brandon Lee who killed himself with a gun with blanks, when he held it to his head and gave it a watch this...

The wadding killed him. Even Bruce could have told him not to do something that dumb.

the Mauser model 98 was used by a bunch of armies through out the world, used against the Americans in the Spanish American war, The Swedish used them, and I want an official Karbiner98 with nazi stamps number matching so bad.

list of guns I have:

S&W airweight 38 Special
RIA 1911a1
Custom AR15
Mossberg ATR100 30-06
Remington 770 .243
Savage Axis .223
Mossberg MVP Varmint .223 (tack driver)
Springfield XDS
Glock 33
Glock 36
Glock 26
S&W M&P9c
Mossberg Maverick .20ga
Sig P250 (worst pistol ever)

I reload all my own ammo too, I reload .45, 9mm and .223

make a box of V-Max .223 50g for $6.47/box of 20! that's $.32/round and around $8/box of 50 in 45 and 6ish for 9mm

Savage axis (back) Rem770 Front.

Hand loads, 50g vmax .223 23.5g powder 75

Something that looks like this

I've seen Mach 1 .45 cal acp's at between $400 and $450 as well as the Girsin 1911 series and a few others. Does anybody have any insights into any of these?
Well you wont find it blued and the picture you posted is parkerized, but you can find a 1911 from Rock Island Arsenal for that price and it's made by Armscor who owns the factory in the Phillipines where the original 1911 was made. Citidel is another that is made by armscor and is the exact same thing

List of what I've got:

Spike's Tactical AR-15 mid-length w/12" BAR Quad rail, Magpul MOE Stock, Magpul MBUS flip up sights, Magpul BAD Lever, EOTech EXPS3-4, Eotech G33.STS 3.4x magnifier
Remington 700 SPS Stainless 300 Win Mag, Leupold VXII custom 4-12x40AO scope w/ M1 BDC turrets
Remington 870 Express 12Ga Slug w/fully rifled barrel and cantilever scope mount, 3-9x40 Bushnell scope
Sig P229 DAK .40S&W
Sig P239 SAS .40S&W/.357 Sig (have both barrels) w/ TruGlo tritium fiber optic sights.

Next purchase will probably be a Sig P229 Scorpion 9mm or P226 Elite Dark with a threaded barrel as I've been thinking about acquiring a suppressor for HD use. There's a lot to be said for being able to operate your HD weapon 1 handed and not have to worry about blowing your ears out on the first shot.
