We really should go 3-1 vs. these teams. A double broom would be nice.

So do that.
A Florida fan talking about winning 75% against your two biggest rivals.
Should be an easy feat. Good luck!

Obviously Bert is drunk again. What's it tonight? Martinis? Scotch? Must be a volatile liquor. Perhaps tequila.

Actually, the Gators on play UT once and UK twice, so 3-1 is Impossible.

Thanks Themis. My assumption was based upon past schedules and did not account for SEC expansion. Guess we can shoot for 2-1 with hopes for 3-0 broom action.

Coaches usually don't have much influence. Cal knows that the parties that help send the players to him expect them to the get to the NBA so they can have their pay day. I think he's honest with them as to what they have to do to get better, but ultimately the agents and the families have much more sway.

Hakadoula just fouled out for UT. Look for UK to take charge. 56-54 UK with 6:47 left.

Of course.
In your view Florida has never lost to Kentucky or Tennessee. The record book say it is different; however, the record book are just ink and paper.

Sadly for UK, their offense is hampered by two guys (Poythress and Goodwin) that forget they have teammates. They have one guy who is trying (Harrow), but lacks the physicality to finish. WCS plays hard, but doesn't make great decisions and winds up in foul trouble. Noel and KW understand that its a team game and try to make others around them better, sometimes in Noel's case, to a fault.
On defense, they don't communicate and have a bad habit of watching instead of playing. Noel makes up for some of that as a really good last line of defense. I understand why Calipari hates the zone, because it really relies on discipline and communication and some teams just don't have it.
If I was a UK fan (thankfully, I am not), I would be more concerned about the defensive mindset. Offense has a way of taking care of itself, but bad habits on defense usually don't go away and come back to bite you at the worst time.
Even with their problems, on most nights (like tonight) they're going to win regardless. I still think they will wind up third in the league. This is a year for UF to take advantage of this situation and if we don't, shame on us.

Yes, it's definitely good for UK that our games are so late in the season, but I'm not sure these guys will make enough improvement by then.

While I believe UK will get better I also believe Florida will so there is a bit of an offset to consider. Although the curve for the Wildcats should be sharper due to the youth on the team the Gators also have an upward curve since we have players like Frazier II who should improve. Right now injuries are one of our biggest concerns.

My observation from the UT-UK game: both teams look slow and dribble poorly, and offensively both teams lack a sense of what they're trying to do.
If the Gators are healthy, I like our chances, but our games against Kentucky and Tennessee will be tough.

Cal has been really forthcoming about the problems, probably more than he should be (from a competitive standpoint). You can tell that he is fighting this every day, but that is the challenge he sought when he adopted this "new team, every year" philosophy.

Agents and the AAU coaches they employ control the game and most of the elite players. I think most agree with that.
