2013 Gator Defense
What would an early depth chart look like to some of you guys? I'm having a hard time coming up with the starting safeties.
DE: Powell,Bullard
DT: Easley,Orr
LB: Taylor,Morrison,Ball?
CB: Purifoy,Roberson
S: ?,?
Our DL starters are all blue chippers so we're good there...Obviously need to get some depth...LB and S are big question marks right now...Taylor and Morrison have played a lot and hopefully continue to improve...Losing Jenkins REALLY sucks because of his coverage skills. Does a Freshman come in and take a starting job or does Ball lock it down. I haven't seen enough to make a judgement on that just yet. And as far as the safeties...I'm clueless and hope someone can help me out.
Are there any guys that we heard some good things about to keep an eye out for? I read some
good things about the DE McCallister and LB Powell...Feel free to add more. Thanks and Go Gators!

There's no way we don't see lots and lots of Dante Fowler on that depth chart next year...

Gorman/Maye/Showers/Ledbetter at safety. I think Poole stays at CB

No doubt on Fowler...Would we start Fowler at DE and have Powell as an OLB type? That's another thing I've been coming up with. I guess we have so many packages it's hard to just come up with the starting 11.

Take it for what it's worth, but Elam (on Instagram) said that Poole would "take the torch."

Morrison is moving inside they are not starting Mike Taylor. Everybody has a shot at those safety spots watch out for Riggs

If Taylor doesn't start that means a Freshman will likely get the nod correct?

Taylor not starting would surprise me (at least first game), unless Kitchens took the spot. Taylor's played a lot this year.

Good talent returning but man we are losing great experience and leadership in Hunter, Floyd, Bostic, Elam, Jenkins, Shaw, McCray...
If we don't take a step back I will be amazed cause we are not quite in reload mode. But with our staff is it possible we will be as good as 2012?

Morrison is moving to ILB then on the outside you have options like Jeremi Powell and Nerion Ball. The EE freshmen Daniel McMillian & Alex Anzalone will aslo get a shot outside.

Step back at safety and slightly at LB, but our pass rush should be way better with Fowler and Bullard as sophs and Powell's return. That will help the secondary A LOT!

It is going to come down to the LB play. We should have the best DL in the SEC next year

We haven't even gone through spring ball yet. We have no idea who will be the best options where at LB or safety.

Well, we have an idea. And if you hate to at least speculate about it, why even open the thread?

Morrison inside is a no brainer. Guy stuffs the run like Spikes and seems to have some real field awareness.
