A horse is a horse, of course of course... unless that horse is the famous Mr. Edway.
They should put his face on the Bronco logo, and get what looks like the north end of a southbound jackass.

I hope Tebow ends up in the HOF, really. But some of you Florida fans are making the rest of the country gag with your poor logic about him as a QB. I'm not saying he'll never make it, just that he wasn't as good of an option as Manning, even at 36.

No - but Manning isn't exceptionally better than Tebow so there is some reason to laugh at that game and the lack of decent QB play.
Secondly if Manning gets his bell rung again could have lifelong complications. I really don't want to hear "poor payton" if and when that day comes.

Greetings from Denver. I haven’t been here in a while. I peeked over here suspecting a butthurt festival, and I was right. I used to post here semi-often in support of Tebow, even when things started going downhill. For a time early on, I even supported him over PFM (Peyton Freaking Manning). You can see that in my post history, but that time is long past.
I’m amused by the outpouring of predictable butthurt schadenfreude from Florida and Indianapolis. Indy’s butthurt of course lacks the whacky pseudo-religious overtones the Tebow Zombies are bringing. Frankly, you all act like a bunch of overgrown children, who in seeing your relationship with your first crush go sour, you wait in the wings in resentment hoping your love’s new relationship goes bad and they never end up happily married. That is just pathetic. Needless to say, if the aggrieved had a semblance of a life of his own and anything to look forward to, he wouldn’t obsess over his past breakups. Thus, both Tebow and Colts fans are wrapped up in a security blanket of hostility toward Denver, wailing you’re no longer with your love even while you hide it behind “we don’t need them anyway” nonsense. Feel free to leave as many burning dingleberries on our doorstep as you wish.
Facts are facts: If Tebow can’t beat out career backup journeymen like Kyle Orton, he certainly has no business to cry if a shoe-in HOF QB takes his place. His 46% completion percentage and penchant for fumbling is why he’s not starting – and is indeed why now even Jacksonville won’t touch him with a 10-foot pole. ( Why aren’t you guys crying about the Jags?!) He and you have nobody but his poor performances to blame for that. Denver overhauled their offense to the read option to accommodate him, and even that wasn’t enough. You still aren’t satisfied, that doesn’t surprise me. Oh well, not our problem.
Tebow did not take Denver farther. Both lost in the divisional round. (Why do I have to explain this?) In one case, we had no chance to win the game (Tebow), and one in which a game that should have been won was given up (Manning). Was that all Manning’s fault? Give me a break; only if Manning kicks the dirt instead of the ball, gets burned by WRs, and officiates like a blind man. Was it all Tebow’s fault? Uh, not by a longshot. In both cases, the defensive backfield crumpled and coaches called some questionable plays.
In seeing tantrum-like comments such as those on Peter Tebow’s twitter page, I’m beginning to question my support of Tim and his family. I’d strongly suggest to both Peter Tebow and denvergator1987 (yes, PFM always says “hurry hurry”) that they pitch in together, rent a U-Haul, and leave Denver since they both find it so distasteful. Nothing is keeping you here. Petey can finish his Greek classes in Florida where everyone will unquestioningly kiss his butt.
I only wonder what Tim will name his poor dog once the Jets cut him loose. That dog is probably already suffering an identity crisis. Is my name Bronco or Bronx, daddy?
It’s hilarious the tin foil hat crowd here is still claiming Elway “feared” Tebow taking his limelight. PFM has broken several of Elway’s team records in the one season he’s been here thus far, and somehow Elway feared Tebow and his 46% completion rate. That is epic lulz if I ever saw it. I can only hope those who say such things don’t believe what they’re typing, lest I worry for their mental health. Comments such as “Manning isn't exceptionally better than Tebow” make me want to call in the white coats.
Elway was not making “lemon faces” at Tebow or anyone else. If you cared to do anything more than go along with media hype, you’d have seen the same face after Von Miller sacks and Peyton Manning touchdowns. But let’s not let the facts stop your fantasy. You’re not Broncos fans, you know nothing about the Broncos or John Elway, and yet you think you know what you’re saying when you whine about Denver’s FO. No, you’re just obsessive over John Elway and have a stick up your backsides. Yes, it’s a conspiracy, and John Albert Elway is pulling the puppet strings. Whatever you say, sunshine.
If you don’t think Denver will win a Super Bowl during Peyton Manning’s tenure, you’re fooling yourselves. First season with a revamped, rebuilt offensive playbook, and we gave away a game in the divisional round after having had the best record in the AFC playing the 2nd most difficult schedule going into the season. We will be haunting your dreams for years. Get used to it. You only wish it was over. Actually, it’s only begun.
What horribly deluded people to think a lackluster misfit option QB remotely stacks up to someone of Peyton Manning’s stature. Absolutely breathtaking. Is it the municipal water supply in Florida? Perhaps, then, you should juggle your monthly budget to accommodate a supply of Zephyrhills bottled water.

and people wonder why gator fans like myself get a bad name. it's because of the maniacal obsession the fanbase has with tebow. plenty of other gators are doing superbly in the pros from the pouncey twins to aaron hernandez to percy harvin (when healthy) to joe haden to a bunch of others.
hell, brandon spikes and hernandez' team is actually still in the playoffs and are favorites to win the title, you'd think they'd get a little more support and press than a player who couldnt beat out mark sanchez or greg mcelroy.
first tebow zealots hate the john elway and the broncos, now they hate rex ryan and the jets and then their gonna hate whatever coach/GM signs tim next and then doesnt play him because he's not good enough. rinse, wash, repeat.

Some of us football fans used facts about Manning, his lack of wins in cold weather and him no longer being as strong as before, to predict exactly what happened.
It's not us who got bit in the rear end for believing the hype and wins over some bad regular season teams.
The ONLY reason our butts hurt today, is we are laughing our asses off.

Welcome to college football where the fans care about the team AND the players--past, present, and future. Tim is a Gator so I, for one, make no apologies for caring about the horrible treatment he's getting in the No Fun League.

It's especially disenheartening considering how much honest, enthusiastic support Tebow had from Denver fans. Oh well.
For such people who love Tebow for his Christian living, they carry a ton of hate.

Isn't Elway responsible for drafting Rahim Moore, the DB who got burned on that bomb at the end of regulation? He also hired the too-conservative John Fox as his coach. His team benefited from an easy schedule this year and predictably flamed out in the playoffs. Manning's postseason record is now 9-11, nowhere near Montana or Brady's numbers. I feel no shame for rooting for Elway and Manning to lose.

Horrible treatment? Players are expected to adjust and adjust quickly. How often does a team overhaul its offense to accommodate a first-year player? What's your beef here, seriously?

Arguably, Manning had the good fortune to face, at home, the most porous Ravens defense in years.

Watching Manning choke in the playoffs never gets old. I found it funny when he was a Colt and I enjoyed it just as much yesterday.

Next year you'll be throwing the same temper tantrum. You're mad because nobody feels sorry for you and your choke artist QB. See you next January and we'll do it again.

Wow, talk about delusional. It was pretty commonly discussed last year that Elway and Fox didn't want to keep Tebow - it wasn't exactly a secret. He wasnt their guy, they gave him lukewarm support, even after he improbably made the playoffs and jettisoned him as quickly as possible when the opportunity arose.
I dont see anything particularly nefarious behind their decision to replace Tebow. I get that risk-adverse NFL coaches want to keep their jobs, and thus innovation tends to be minimal, but when Fox installed a read-option offense it was like the real John Fox had been kidnapped by the Body Snatchers - it was innovative (see, for example, Kaepernick's 50 TD yard run off the read option) but totally not Fox-like. I also understand that without Elway behind him (and again, it's not exactly up for debate that Elway was looking for a traditional QB), Fox was not going to stick with the Tebow offense - too easy to get himself fired (again).
A couple of things bother me though - things I suspect you'll agree with. First, there was rampant propagation from "unnamed sources" in Denver of the myth that Tebow could simply not play QB, despite clear evidence to the contrary. Was he perfect? Not even close. But the idea that he has a weak arm or is too inaccurate is simply crazy. Read Saban's quotes about Tebow after UF beat Bama in the SEC championship game (basically about Tebow completing passes to guys who were "covered" by future-NFL DB's. Heck, look at his performance against Pittsburgh - the best YPC percentage in the NFL ever! He had awful, awful games - find me one NFL QB who hasn't. If Fox and Elway had been honest they'd have said Tebow just couldn't win in the conservative system they wanted to run - not that the kid couldn't play.
Second, I take issue with Fox and Elway spraining elbows while patting themselves on the back as if they were geniuses for getting Manning at the bargain price of $95,000,000 (rofl). First, I agree that Manning is one of the statistical stars of the NFL, and that he has and always will have better stats than Tebow. He's also a complete choke artist. On top of that, he was coming off an injury no one was sure he'd fully recover from. It now seems like he has not, and will not, ever fully recover. To add icing to the cake, he's never won a game played when the temp was below 40 degrees ... and the Broncos bring him to Denver?
I think it was basically politics and concern over job security that ran Tebow out of Denver, and may keep him from ever starting in the NFL.. I think the anger you see toward Denver, and the smugness over the loss, is based in the fact that it just happened to be Denver where these politics went into action - its just happenstance, partially. But its also based on Elway's seemingly lukewarm support of a guy who frankly saved a terrible Denver season, and his smug satisfaction after getting Manning. I think it's only natural for supporters and family to get pi$$ed when their guy doesn't get a fair shot, and Tebow did not get a fair shot. I don't think that's delusional, childish, or silly.
I won't even get into your "toughest preseason schedule" (as if that matters), "First season with a revamped playbook," or "Denver will win a Super Bowl with Manning" comments. Manning could barely win one in Indy in top health, with everything going for him, playing in a dome.
I tell you what: if Denver wins a Super Bowl with Manning, I'll buy you dinner at Rioja (or wherever else you want in Denver). That's how sure I am it won't happen. As a gator fan, I've been watching Manning his entire career - he's a great QB by the numbers, but he isn't a winner and he never will be.

Excellent post sflagator. I just find it odd that a Denver fan would be thinking of Tebow, of all things, after a heartbreaking loss like that yesterday. Sounds like he's trying to talk himself out of regret....and with an 850 word essay mind you, good grief.
