Default Mens tennis opens this weekend
The mens tennis team opens the spring season with match with 4 teams in southwest Fla. gatorzone has a nice write up. Current roster only has 7 players. Hope no one gets injured. Still wondering about the recruit from South American. It does not appear he will contribute this season.

Had a good day today...won 3 doubles matches and 6 of 7 singles (only Alford lost)

On a side note, notice that Spencer Newman is no longer on the Michigan roster. Surprisingly transferred from UF this past summer and played at UM in the fall. Anybody know what happened with him?

Team had a pretty good opening weekend, doubles seemed to be fairly solid and Diep looks to have stepped up his game. Also looks like Piro will be a pretty good contributor somewhere in the lineup, which is crucial to fill in for the 2 transfers.
All that said, I really didn't dig deep enough to see what quality each guys opponent was, so some results may be misleading.

Guessing Diep and VO hold down the top 2 slots, the rest of the guys will likely be all over the ladder.Still hoping somehow Hidalgo gets in for the spring. His resume indicates he would impact the order immediately.

Interesting. I assume he went to Michigan because former Gator Mark Merklein is on the staff there. Merklein had been a coach down in So Fla and probably crossed Newmans path.
