How come our juniors left?
I know a lot of kids are broke in college, i know a lot of them can't wait to be in the NFL, and a lot of them (jordan reed) don't like school.
I don't blame them.
But aside from floyd i felt all of our juniors should have stayed. None of them had high draft stock except elam.
Did they not beleive we could win it all next year?
Im just wondering why last year all of bamas players came back and ours didnt.

Because they felt like they were ready for the NFL. And they didn't feel one more year would improve their stock enough to justify staying.

Is T-Town Menswear open under a new name? Bama should have been on probation instead of winning a crystal football. Why did that whole scandal disappear?

Because (and this may ruffle some feathers to hear, but it's true) we aren't the be-all and end-all of life to these guys.
They are footballers: it's fair to assume that a lot of them would quite like to get paid millions playing football down the line and the University of Florida is a step on that path. If someone says they can get to that pot of gold a tad quicker, there is a good chance that they are likely to take it.
Looking at the finer details of draft rankings etc might be moot to some of these kids. Getting drafted in the 2nd round might sound better than the 4th round, but what you can't control is the roster situation in the franchise you are ultimately drafted to.I'd contend that the oppotunity to play and develop well isn't necessarily determined by your draft round, unless you're very high up in that draft selection where the expectations will be a lot higher anyway.
We all want to get along in life. It has to be very tempting to grasp that option as soon as you can...

One aspect of this scenario, even if some don't like school or the coaches, etc., is the agent influences and input they have seen in previous drafts along with the greed factor.
Agents make big bucks off the signing bonuses and contracts from those they represent. Unfortunately, many players often times are given the inflated impression they will go higher in the draft than the reality many find themselves. They want money for their parents, for their homes/cars/women.......and all the stuff they have dreamed of their entire lives. It is hard to resist for most of us.
Getting a degree is often times put on the back burner as the average NFL career is 3-4 years or less, so what then? Some make it longer, but it is the exception, not the rule.
Let's wish all Gators the best but to continue their education and have a plan for the rest of their lives, which is why they came to UF to begin with.

Because if someone offered us a multi-million dollar contract to leave UF before our requisite period of time we all would have jumped on it.
And yes, if there had been an internet for the public and message boards in the late 70's, the UF boards would have been inundated with posts of angst about my pre-mature leaving.

I don't blame them for turning pro. Most of these guys are from poor families and there's no way they can delay making hundreds of thousands of dollars. Football is a dangerous sport and they could get injured and miss out.

Because classes at UF are hard and the coaches require you to go to class.

Boy, you sure did work hard a spinning up a negative rant... Just awful!
Which player would have been drafted higher by staying? Why did you ignore the massive advantage of a player starting their NFL clock? How you extrapolated a question about the ability of next year’s team “winning it all” is agenda driven & pathetic. Recheck your bama math…
Awful…

You know they get counseled by the Gator coaches who have pro contacts as to whether they should go or not, right?

All the good teams lose juniors. LSU lost more than us and it has nothing to do with anything other than knowing they can be drafted now, and get paid.

Because next year we won't be able to play the underdog card, and they all saw what happens when we are favored. 9-4.

This is why I hate the no-fun-league and all of the media guys who make comments like"He's ready for the nfl" because they plant the seed and many players leave early and fail to make a roster longtime. These ESPN college football announcers should be promoting college sports because college sports is the reason thay have a job and not professional sports. These same announcers (Brent Musberger and others) constantly say players are ready to make the move and it sucks. Look at what's happening to LSU this year.

the purpose of going to college is to get skills to make a lot of money as soon as possible. they gained those skills and are hoping to make millions in the nfl.
