And then there always this oldie, but goodie...

Quote:
"It is wonderful to be back in Oregon," Obama said. "Over the last 15 months, we’ve traveled to every corner of the United States. I’ve now been in 57 states? I think one left to go. Alaska and Hawaii, I was not allowed to go to even though I really wanted to visit, but my staff would not justify it."

The Times' conscientious Robin Abcarian thought she heard something different there. She checked her tape recorder. It had captured what he had actually said -- 57 states now. A new Louisiana Purchase that's gone unannounced so far? Was he channeling his inner John Kerry-Heinz 57 personality?

Your right it died not change the facts that he said those words.
However, it is a fact that Gingery did make the following statement that clarified his position and it also sets him apart from Adkins's position.
For you to deny this item is more than laughable.

I don't believe that was the Congressman's exact belief. He was saying that man cannot ultimately outdo or top what God can do.

So does that mean that all Repubs should not be on that committee?

You are back to parsing and twist words again like you did on the Kerry thread this past Christmas. Well for the sake of the poster's on this thread I am not going through another pissing contest with you.

Never said his position is identical to Akin, did I? I quoted him correctly saying that Akin was "partially right."

No, that's not what he said. What he said was:

Quote:

When asked if climate change was causing the Earth to become warmer, he said, "I don't think it's the cause. I don't think we can control what God controls."
In other words. Man can't affect the climate, only God. I personally think that's ridiculous. You may disagree.

No, never said that at all. But I wonder if it's a good idea to have anyone, Democrat or Republican, on it who seems to have trouble believing that science is, in fact, a science.

Oh, you mean when you kept claiming McCain said something that he didn't really say?
