What do these guys have in common?
Rep. Phil Gingrey told an audience this week that former colleague Todd Akin was “partly right” when he claimed women’s resist pregnancy from “legitimate rape.
Rep. Paul Broun - “All that stuff I was taught about evolution and embryology and the Big Bang Theory, all that is lies straight from the pit of Hell ...I don’t believe that the Earth’s but about 9,000 years old."
Rep. Ralph Hall - “I don’t think we can control what God controls.”
, Rep. James Sensebrenner, about global warming: . "It could be dinosaur flatulence. Who knows?"
Oh, yes. They're all Republicans on the U.S. House Committee on Science.

Yeah, but you're not going to get any appropriations with that sort of thinking.

Obviously these guys are punching below their weight as they can't seem to stem the tide of fanatical warmism and other forms of religious kookery, like being able to spend our way out of overspending.

That's about as silly as going to jail for guessing the wrong number of jelly beans in a gallon jar.

We certainly can affect the environment. Just like millions of other things...

Yes... It's getting difficult to compete with the likes of this...

This is intellectual dishonesty in your part. You are lifting phrases out of an article and putting it out of context. This what Gingrey said after that quote.
Quote:
“I’ve delivered lots of babies, and I know about these things. It is true,” Gingrey said, according to the Marietta Daily Journal. “We tell infertile couples all the time that are having trouble conceiving because of the woman not ovulating, ‘Just relax. Drink a glass of wine. And don’t be so tense and uptight because all that adrenaline can cause you not to ovulate.’ So he was partially right wasn’t he?”
“But the fact that a woman may have already ovulated 12 hours before she is raped, you’re not going to prevent a pregnancy there by a woman’s body shutting anything down because the horse has already left the barn, so to speak,” Gingrey continued. “And yet the media took that and tore it apart.”

are you countering this opinion by saying that man is above God?
[quote="rivergator] Rep. James Sensebrenner, about global warming: . "It could be dinosaur flatulence. Who knows?"
You misidentified the US Congressman and just like your first example you took his comments out of context.

Rep. Dana Rohrabacher, R-Calif., an outspoken skeptic of global warming, questioned whether the temperature changes weren't cyclical.
"We don't know what the other cycles were caused by in the past," he said. "It could be dinosaur flatulence. Who knows?"

Three out of four of your examples were flawed.
Either you were out to do a smear job or you pulled something off a left wing it web site and failed to validate it.
What was it?

"Ms. McKinney is just a victim of being in Congress while black." --James Myart, lawyer for Rep. Cynthia McKinney (D-GA), who hit a Capitol Hill police officer with her cell phone after he grabbed her arm when she failed to stop at a security checkpoint
"They say Democrats don't stand for anything. That's patently untrue. We do stand for anything." --Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill), joking at the 2006 Gridiron dinner
"I may not have been the greatest president, but I've had the most fun eight years." –Bill Clinton
"Politics gives guys so much power that they tend to behave badly around women. And I hope I never get into that." –Bill Clinton, to a woman friend while he was a Rhodes scholar at Oxford
"I think of myself as a recovering politician. I'm on about step 9 ... recovering, boozing it up of course" --Former Vice President Al Gore, discussing the launch of his new TV network, Current, with Jay Leno
"I don't have the slightest clue who Hillary is. All I see is a gal who knew she was as good as anyone else, and she saw this guy she could make something of, and went to Arkansas. That's a hell of a move to make for a redneck." --Rep. Charlie Rangel (D-NY), on Hillary Clinton

In all fairness, it's not river who is listing these quotes out of context... It's likely directly from MediaMatters of ThinkProgress.

Adding more of Gingery's quotes doesn't change what he said. He said Akin was partially right.
I'm saying that it's ridiculous to claim we can't affect the climate because only God can.
And, yes, it was Rohrabacher, not Sensebrenner. My apologies. But both are Republicans on the science committee.

Dave, if you are correct the. One of the two assumptions that I made are correct. That assumption being that River's information came from a leftwingnut web site, MediaBlabber.com.
