Ironic, huh?
I think that was planned. Slammed Maher on his outrageous claim by using a document Maher insisted was sufficient to prove eligibility for the US Presidency.
I would say that Maher got PWNED... Twice.

It's a joke, you can't sue someone for making fun of you, nice way for trump to frivolously use the court. This ain't going anywhere for The Donald, besides making him look like an even bigger idiot! Bill maher is a zillion times more intelligent than trump. He's picking the wrong fight, and he forgot to release the original long version of his birth certificate, soI'm still not convinced he wasn't born to orangutan parents!!! I'll be watching this unfold with much amusement.

Donald Trump's lawsuit against Bill Maher is the 2013 version of his presidential run. It's The Donald's newest vehicle for the promotion of the next season of the Apprentice. As was the case with Trump's presidential candidacy, the lawsuit will probably be dropped within the next couple of months.

It sounds like an oral contract to me. However, I don't think Trump's proof is sufficient. It only proves that his mother claims his father was human. A DNA test should work though.

It's a short form, unsigned BC. We know those are all fake.

Maher should be sued for being unfunny. It is a poor form of humor to base every joke on making fun of someone else. An imbecile can do that.

Love censorship much?

political satire? Maher? Huh? Is bad mouthing religion political satire?
Don't sue him for his comments, just for being unfunny.
True political satire doesn't attack one personally, but comments on policy and actions of politicians.
I guess one mans humor is another's total boredom.

This is really it. Maher's form of humor isn't derived from wittiness, or a peculiar perspective on society that's unsual -- he's just uses irreverance, criticism, and borderline hatefulness - none of which is funny, to me at least. I suppose some Liberals like him because he's so incredibly left-leaning.

He's not even that clever...it's mostly personal insults that aren't even an intelligent turn on the issue he is intending to address. Ad hominem attacks for the most part.

It is difficult to assess how much of Trump's complex empire has been built with the help of government munificence, since many of his projects remain shielded from view. But even a limited view demonstrates that government programs have bolstered Trump.
He has also curried favor with elected officials through campaign contributions and lucrative job offers. In the last election cycle, Trump contributed to individual campaigns and wrote large checks to political groups, including $170,000 to the Republican Governors Assn., $50,000 to the GOP-supporting American Crossroads PAC and $116,000 to the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, according to the Center for Responsive Politics, a nonpartisan research organization.
His giving has long been carefully targeted. A 1980s study by Newsday found that Trump had donated more than anyone else to members of the New York City Board of Estimate, which at the time approved all land-use development. A recent study by New York's Public Interest Research Group showed that since 1999, Trump has donated $595,638 to the state's lawmakers.
Trump, 64, was launched into the world of million-dollar deals by his father, Fred C. Trump, who left a $250-million estate based partly on building government-backed housing for middle-income tenants in Brooklyn and Queens. Early in his career, Donald Trump abandoned his father's formula and instead made a name for himself developing luxury hotels and apartments in Manhattan. But like his father, he continued to rely on government incentives

A wise saying:
Don't hate the player, hate the game.
This applies to politicians and businesses alike. If you don't play the game, where we all end up losing, what happens? You don't get elected or your firm closes. Then what happens? A replacement by someone who plays the game.

Sounds like Trump was at least legal making his fortune. We all know,or at least should know, how the Kennedy's got theirs.

Trump is an ass and Maher disguises his hate with a laugh track. They deserve each other.

Yup. Add Jon Stewart into that odd Ménage à trois and they can go live happily ever after somewhere else.
