Why can't Trump and Maher just fight it out in a Pay for View bout, with the proceeds going to charity (such as the U.S. Treasury)?

If it's done with no actual intent to sue. That's obviously difficult to prove most of the time, but for a publicity hound like Trump I think it might be easier.
