VA Tech to SEC! rumor
I have it from a source, a conversation I had, that Virginia Tech is coming to the SEC. Expect the announcement soon. I hope it doesn't happen but this is what my Guy is telling me! Go Gators!

All kidding aside, I'd LOVE to see them come to the SEC. Many reasons, but they are more "SEC" than Missouri ever will be.

Obviously this thread is a joke but in no way is VA Tech more SEC then Missouri. Missouri has an SEC feel at their games.

Terribly inaccurate map. You can't have a map pertaining to the war without showing neutral states. Kentucky and Missouri were neutral. Bloody Bill Anderson and Buckin' Bill Quantrill were Confederates from Missouri. Read about captain Kelleys Irish Brigade out of St. Louis. Morgan's raiders out of Kentucky. The Confederate Flag has 13 stars on it. The states represented on that flag are Florida, Georgia, sc, nc, Virginia, Alabama, Louisiana, Tennessee, Arkansas, Mississippi, Texas, Kentucky AND Missouri. The citizens of Kentucky and Missouri were largely southern sympathizers. Kansas invaded Missouri with their red legged bastards as a result. Research and you will learn something. The neutral states part in the war of northern aggression is quite interesting.
Missouri ordinance of secession Oct. 31, 1861 admitted to the CSA Nov. 28, 1861
Kentucky ordinance of secession Nov. 20, 1861 admitted to the CSA Dec. 10, 1861

Who gives a damned about the Civil war? Seriously, GET OVER IT! This is football we are talking about, not socio-economics of agriculture vs industry in the 1860s
Culturally Mizzou fits with red-neck states just fine.. if that's your thing. Have you ever been there? It's red-neck heaven.

I don't see where anyone on this thread isn't "over it". A lot of people give a damn about all history. I happen to be one of them. Being an American history Buff i felt obligated to correct An inaccuracy. i couldnt resist. Missouri was referred to on this thread as a state that doesn't fit in. There is historical fact and data to show otherwise. Also it wasn't football that was being discussed. It was conference alignment that turned to how certain schools fit culturally.
There are parts of Missouri that is redneck heaven. Just like parts of Ohio and Michigan are. I've been to all of them by the way. The biggest rednecks I've ever encountered are Ohioans. Being a redneck doesn't make someone Southern. It makes them a redneck

My sources tell me we are getting Duke but for football only. They'll stay in the ACC for everything else. So take that to the bank.

I would laugh myself silly if the ACC falls apart and ND is left hanging.
