For those interested in this rumor, guy I spoke to said "several schools have confirmed sponsorship of FSU including UF (I find this very hard to believe). Says conversations still ongoing with other members etc including Slive. He expects some big things to happen whether that is with 100% approval by Sec or a secondary conference approval. Will try to keep u posted. Again not for the troll pushers but other Gators who appreciate message board info and how message boards work.
FYI. For those knocking my spelling. Blame the gatorcountry app . I can't see the darn thing when typing and this iPhone changes everything . No I wasn't schooled by tebows home school professor.
Go gators
Again I hope this does not come to fruition but I think some stuff is definitely going on and major discussions are taking place per my conversation

I noticed it's hard to type on the GC iPhone app on the 5.

Not going to happen. FSU doesn't have 50 million to leave the ACC and the SEC isn't going to pick up the bill.

Georgia Tech would be a better school, keeps the big10 out of the south, brings in an AAU school.

The problem isn't the 50M because the conference will collapse here as soon as the next team leaves

I don't believe a word of it. I appreciate the information though. I won't bash you one way or the other. I'd be thrilled if it happened because FSU can't compete money wise in the ACC because very few ACC care about football.
Other than that, I'd prefer to stay in the ACC but once MYD left even I saw the writing on the wall.
I realize FSU's road to the NC would become far more difficult but last I checked we haven't sniffed a NC in 10 years as it is. So it would be beyond cool to play Aub, Bama, TXAM, UGA, etc. although I'd hate to ditch Miami, Clem and VT.
I also like the games against UNC and NCST.
But progress and survival and what they are so I hope it is true although, no offense, I don't believe a word of it. I'd give it a 20% chance of happening.

I don't know why not pick up schools that are good at multiple sports? UNC, Louisville, Duke? I just don't know what you would be adding market wise with FSU? But I doubt this happens.... Ever...

I want fsu to rot on the vine. Either that, or make them join the Big-12 or Pac-12 and have to jump on a cross-country flight every time they have an away game.
That's a step in the right direction. They deserve far worse….like playing in Russia.

Oh I don't want FSU in the SEC, I was just telling him for being a nolie hes pretty cool, almost as cool as my pizza boy nolie.
I would love to add duke and UNC in the SEC but since they're in the same state that wouldn't happen

It would literally make me sick to my stomach. I would bet anything that it would hurt our recruiting classes quite a bit. The best of the best players choose the SEC to play against the best and get them better prepared for the NFL. When you watch our games against them, you see a lot of their players that we really wanted. So if we give up the SEC as our recruiting edge, it will cost us every year. Plus I hate them so much, I enjoy watching them self destruct every year while having the easiest of schedules. I also feel GT should not be aloud in because of the way it would affect UG the same way it would affect us. I like it being UG vs's UF for the championship game every year with the two of us representing our states. UF and UG players are a rivalry starting form the ages of 12

It really ain't so. Trust me. Either the OP is trolling or his "source" is toying with him. There is not an ounce of truth in this.

Under the current revenue structure how is this economically beneficial to the existing SEC teams (which would have to vote)? The addition would have to represent incremental revenue to the schools after the pie is divided by more teams, when they don't expand the TV market footprint to garner substantially more money from a renegotiated TV contract. A team like NC and maybe a Virginia/DC market makes sense...this the reason they expanded just the way they did before with MIZ and TA&M. If it dilutes the economics of existing teams it makes no sense. This is not about politics, its about money.

See it for what it is:
1. f$u has crappy conference opponents, so not much draw for home games.
2. f$u has crappy fans, so not much draw for home games.
