I agree completely. It is perfectly obvious that Obama cares little for the Constitution, and other laws, for that matter. He subjugates the Constitution to his overwhelming need to get his own way.

Recall that Obama taught constitutional law at Harvard. Perhaps he should go back for a refresher course.

Prepare for a major battle if Obama decides to ignore the Consitution. How much of our money will the government spend to fight the multitude of cases that are inevitable all the way to the Supreme Court?

The worst part is that our problem isn't gun control, it is a lack of mental health care. It's bad enough that they are going to go overboard on the issue, but it is even worse that they are going overboard on the wrong issue.

Gun control is a much more glamorous issue and has a built in constituency. In other words its a perfect opportunity for Obama to pander to a liberal special interest group.
The Republican House is going to slow roll the issue until the fever dies down and cooler heads prevail. I don't expect to see anything radical get out of the House. As for Obama's executive orders it will be interesting to see how much reach he has; probably not much.

Everything should be part of the discussion including our poverty levels which are higher than much of the world, our more mobile society which cuts family bonds etc., but the pathological inability by some to even consider the fact that having over 40% of all the guns on the planet here in the US might lead to some increased gun violence is borderline bizarre.

It's really not that amazing once you figure out their agenda. They want to take the U.S. economy down a peg or three. They want to slowly bankrupt the U.S. government.
