Nick Saban Has No Interest In The NFL
Wednesday 1.9.13 Lakeland Ledger

Saban Already Looking Ahead To 2013 Season
The Coach Says He Has No Interest In The NFL, Only In Another BCS Title
>> It' didn't take Saban long to refocus after Monday night's 42-14 demolition of Notre Dame that secured a second straight BCS title,. <<

Interesting article on Coach Saban.
I know many seem to think he will head to the NFL. I'm one who has always thought he would stay at Alabama. I think he makes $5 million a year there and he has been successful in Tuscaloosa. He has a good thing going there, great fan support and success, no reason to leave it.

Saban mentions quite a bit about his experiences with the NFL Miami Dolphins. I just think it's clear in the article he prefers college football coaching as opposed to an NFL job.

I want to beat Alabama in their stadium with him as coach and Muschamp as ours.

The only certainty in coaching is that a coach always leaves a place after it's said "he has no reason to leave". It's just a matter of how soon.

He'd be a fool to go. He is (when it's all said and done) going to go down as one of the greatest coaches EVER to coach college football. It's scary to think, but he may surpass Bear's status in Tuscaloosa, if he hasn't already. The guy is scary good. The fact that he's at a place like bama makes it that much more insane. Hopefully we can be the ones to knock them back to reality in the SEC championship game. If we both make it next year.... I have a feeling Texas A&M is going to be representing the west next year though. The east is ours or uga's. Maybe Carolina. Can't wait!

Of course he has no interest in the NFL, it's hard to cheat there.

Salary Caps, Free Agency rules, NFL Players Association and draft order come to odds with his control issues.
However, Beelzebub has been quite successful with such restrictions.

Nick plays by different rules in college. From the amount of coaches and the time spent with the players practicing, to the gray-shirt issues and the league not calling holding on their lineman.
None of this will change until Slive is gone, the SEC Headquarters is moved out of 'bama, and at least 90% of the refs are from a state other than Alabama.

The SEC Headquarters should probably be in Atlanta. It's ridiculous it's in Birmingham!
And as I've mentioned elsewhere, Alabama has their own 12th Man Tradition. It's the SEC Official on the game field!

I agree 100% Ray. That home cooking has burned too many other good SEC teams in the past.

the other sec schools need to get together and pay $2 million each to nick as an "inducement" for him to leave. If not, more beatdowns in future years. Bama's 2013 team may be even better.
