I suppose you would want your POTUS to shutup regarding the issues of the day.
But then, you could complain that Obama is showing no leadership...

He should shut the hell up considering that his 'hometown' Chicago one cant carry a weapon in self protection but have stupid amounts of murder by guns in the country.

It's the fact that he exists that bothers some posters the most.

Well we know what that is going to be about with regard to these companies don't we. They only stand to profit.
Care to give a comparison in the time he has given to mental health issue vs direct gun control?

He addresses that point in the video from the debate.
It was Obama long before Sandy Hook who said we have to address the problem from many angles including mental health, poverty, culture, etc.
There are too many gun deaths in every town, city, state....
By your rationale, no one would be able to speak on the topic.

I don't know...
Do you?
I think since the Sandy Hook incident ...everytime the POTUS has spoken he's mentioned mental health as an issue.
How much time Biden is devoting to it?
I have no clue.

Everything should be part of the discussion including our poverty levels which are higher than much of the world, our more mobile society which cuts family bonds etc., but the pathological inability by some to even consider the fact that having over 40% of all the guns on the planet here in the US might lead to some increased gun violence is borderline bizarre.

I'm not sure why we would look at poverty in response to another mass shooting. The mass shootings in the US are a middle class, possibly even an upper-middle class when we start talking about school shootings specifically, problem.

Obama was speaking on gun violence not just mass shootings...
I have yet to understand why people think the POTUS is only addressing mass shootings...America is tried of all gun violence...mass shootings is just a subset.

gun control is not a pressing issue
the economy, the lack of a budget, our deficit and jobs are
I would like the 47%ers prez to follow the Constitution and not overstep his boundaries once again by using executive order

What they are going to do is what they feel is politically expedient. The mental health issue is a tough one to tackle and will take time. They want to show that they are doing something immediately.

996- all you have to do is look at chicago to see that strict gun laws and gun control do nothing to stop the violent crimes where guns are used

Take a look at the statistics.
http://www.gatorcountry.com/swampgas...d.php?t=253644
Violent crime is down 50%.
Gun deaths are steadily decreasing.
Murders from assault rifles account for only 300+ of 8000+ gun deaths.
Time to use facts instead of random acts of violence to push your agenda.

That incident was more about the stupidity of a mother and nothing about gun control. They have some of the toughest gun control in the country. This is an example of you getting in over you head on a topic you don't know much about.

Why not look at global stats?
Strict gun law works elsewhere...
