That wasn't the case before. Now ESPN 3 requires certain cable company account info.

Is that correct? Anyway around this?

I think it's always been that way as far as having to have a specific cable company, maybe directtv quit including it?

It wasnt available for cox for a while, so I got my parents to give me their login for brighthouse and it worked fine.

Nope, but you can always just ask someone you know who has verizon, comcast etc for their login info. Or have them put it in once without you knowing it and you can watch.

Hmm. I have DirecTV and watched a couple of our football games on ESPN3 over the last two years. They ask for my account info and then I log in. That doesn't work any more?

It worked pretty good for me on Saturday, although I prefer ESPN 3 if its available.

Hit the jackpot when I signed up for Verizon a few years back.

In case you didn't already know, you (at least I) can watch ESPN3 on Xbox360 and/or the computer. I have the Xbox connected to my tv and can do the same with the compouter.

I have Directv and its on channel 721, but only available if you purchased ESPN Full Court.

After trying to get on ESPN3 for 2 days as practice for last nights game, I had no success being a Direct TV guy.

However, last night during the game I tried again and bingo.... Gator Game came on. Later the South Carolina game was on ESPN3, too.

So.... WTF does that say for future games?

I think certain cable systems that are also internet providers (or have relationships with Satellite providers like Direct TV) work together to restrict access to ESPN 3. Their goal is to push you to buy the Full Court package.

Verizon is my DSL provider, so I don't have a problem with ESPN 3, outside of the sometimes bad signal strength (which could be my reluctance to pay for the most expensive service).

If you have brighthouse cable, just go online to espn3.com, sign in with your brighthouse account and you will have full access. If you just have brighthouse internet, you are out of luck.

I don't know why they made the ESPN3 change, but it is certifiably terrible. I never had a single problem before this year.
