They just didnt renew his contract which is fine. ESPN is trying to make itself look good in this situation but they were also at fault if you believe it shouldn't have been said. They knew what Parker was going to say and they sent him out there.

So did rush limbaugh and limbaugh didn't say anything that bad. Double standards suck. But I don't expect anything more from the liberal sports network.

ESPN is just as guilty as Parker considering how ESPN basically promotes a culture of racism on First Take. If ESPN was sincerely concerned about doing the right thing, they would have sent Steven A. Smith and Kordell Stewart packing a long time ago. Instead they reformat the show this year into ESPN Ghetto Hour with a format aimed more at a high school demographic. I'm guessing Bayless is quietly putting up with it until his contract is up.

I'm not going to touch the rest of that comment, but regarding this particular part, I think that probably reflects them knowing their veiwership.
I have a hard time believing that a show, based entirely on people yelling at each other, that airs directly in the middle of the workday has a lot of viewers with an advanced education. It's Sports Springer.

I feel a tangent coming on...Steven Smith is at least smart. Parker was a dumb ass. God forbid some of the black folk try and do something with their lives and be more refined. RGIII is a class act. It does not mean they have to bail on being black but bringing some class to the table is a good thing. The black guys that are classy are so refreshing. The other guys are chumps.The problem is the black youth today (the athletes ) are given so much leeway. Like anyone popular. What are we pretending not to know? Quite frankly, most of the nation is sick of all the crappy role models athletes are for kids today. White athletes are to blame too. The world has gone to hell in a hand-basket. Maybe the Muslims are right- degradation of society prevails. But seeing there are more black athletes the tough guy attitude that beats his gal, carries guns around, the whole entourage deal. It's a joke. It's a joke in the music biz, it's a joke in sports and it's a joke in schools. Emulating that prison mentality is like trying to regress and be frigging a single cell organism. Just retarded. I get it, the culture etc etc. Time to change the cultures DNA. For the better.
Fortunately, for the most part our players are decent kids. a few are not so great, but they have an opportunity to mature and evolve. Evolution is key. For all of us-for that matter. Just like the display during the game the other night. There is an important distinction between actually being a chump and acting like a chump. We appeared to be the chumps because some of the guys were acting that way. Are they? Probably not-but what did most of the nation think? Impressions are important.
Reality television is a joke too. Let's celebrate mediocrity. I couldn't give a crap about snookie, Kardashians, Frankle, or the bevery hills botox crew. More Tebow's please. And toss in a car crash occasionally to make it exciting. Gandhi was right-be the change you want to see. The problem is most people don't know know change is an option. It isn'r very cool. (*&T%^$ done.

I just don't get why there's such a big deal being made about Brent. I'm not a big fan of Brent as a announcer but do people think because he's 70 something yrs old he's Gay. Brent isn't blind or Gay. He said she is a pretty beautiful young Lady. No big deal.

I don't get the First Take hate. It's not high art but as a sports show goes, I think they do a good job of discussing sports topics much the way my friends and I do. It's like being in the barbershop, which to me is a good thing.

The show itself isn't inherently bad, it's the jackasses yelling at each other that makes it a joke. I have stopped watching shows likethis because in general I dont care what those people have to say, but stephen a smith and skip bayless are just awful
