I generally detest commercials, but Publix ads always seem to hit some nostalgic nerve in me. Some of their Christmas ads really get to me, in a good way.

Yes, good looking women their, but take a Sunday walk through the Millenia Mall in Orlando and you'll change your mind
Publix is the greatest though. It's only there and Target that the wife and I buy groceries.

You just can't beat Publix for service. They will do handsprings to please you. One of the managers was helping out as bagger one day and wanted to help me out with my groceries. I told him I could get it. Laugh out Loud. He told me he really would prefer to help me out.

Publix just recently opened in Rock Hill SC and Fort Mill SC-both about 30 mins south of downtown Charlotte-they will move into NC in the next 24 months- my Firehouse Subs is about 2.5 miles from Publix Corp office and the head of their real estate dept eats in my restaurant twice a week

The Publix by my house is one of the new prototype stores. Huge deli, cheese shop, big wine selection, eat in area. It's awesome. The only other store that come close is Wegmans. When I first moved to northern VA I was amazed at the crappy grocery stores they had. NASTY!!

My first job was as a bag boy at Publix in high school. My employment experience at Publix was so rewarding I seriously considered bypassing enrollment at UF in lieu of working my way up the chain at Publix. The vast majority of the employees at our store location loved working for Publix too. Everyone was singularly focused on customer satisfaction; it was more than just words. Ultimately I attended UF and graduated a couple of times. HOWEVER, my positive experiences with Publix as an employee and consumer, will never be forgotten.

The Lake Mary Publix was the first one with the new kitchen area for the deli. Fantastic dinners - pot roast on Monday, meatloaf on Tuesday. Nothing in Fla comes close except Fresher Market for certain more exotic items (imported candies, coffees etc)

Is it wrong that I once thought less of a friend because he preferred Sweetbay and Winn-Dixie over Publix?

I worked for Publix as a bag boy in high school for a while. Very positive experience.
Being in the military, I've lived all over and can easily say that Publix is the best all-around grocery store out there. Others do equal and occasionally surpass Publix in some areas: price, selection, etc. However, as others have noted, no other grocery store chain puts the emphasis on customer service that Publix does with its employees. I say this as a former employee and customer. Simply amazing.

Publix has always been our grocery store. They have a great selection of organic and natural foods, too.

Miss Publix - lots of great stuff about it. Clean stores, very good deli, decent "generic" Publix brand items. In the northern VA area where I live Trader Joe's is by far my favorite - can do a full shop in practically no time at all. Harris Teeter is not bad either - but is no Publix.

I'm pretty sure I'm the only person in the U.S. who doesn't like Trader Joe's. Yes, the prepared food is good. That being said, I hate that they only sell there own brand. It necessitates making one trip to Publix for regular groceries and then going to Trader Joe's as well. Want Heinz Ketchup? Can't get it. Want Hellman's Mayo? Can't get it. Fresh Deli meat? Nope.
I'd much rather do all my shopping at Publix and if I need something speciality hit up Fresh Market.
