Golson vs Driskel
I hate to say it but there is no comparison. It really depresses me to see almost every major program having a qb that is so far superior to ours. Team after team have qb's that can scan the field, anticipate the blitz, throw on the run, etc, etc. Think about next years top 10 (I assume we will be in it), who will have the biggest question mark at qb...no question but the Gators. Alabama, UGA, Oregon, OSU, Texas A&M, Louisville, Stamford, Notre Dame, South Carolina and Florida. The only thing holding us back is having a qb that can make the necessary reads to put our offense in a position to win and get our playmakers the ball. This is my biggest concern for next year and the more I see other qb's the more upsetting it becomes.

Once this game is over, I'll move on, but am I wrong?? This has just been a huge frustration for me all year. It will be tough to take another year of an offensive ranked outside the top 100...

Come on, as gatoraz said, Just stop.
Do you as a gator fan really want to be predicting doom one whole year away?
We'll be laughing at your posts one year from now just as we laughed at all the doomsayers from back last summer.

Relax.... Driskel has had two different Qb coaches, AND OC's as well, in his first two years. The only thing he needs to get better at, IMO, is to STOP STARING DOWN WRS! Lol With Brisett gone, he'll get all the snaps now. He should be more then ready for a breakout year. (Through the air) We'll know everything we need to know by game three, IMO.
With recruiting on steroids right now, (not literally) lol the future is bright.

nope, though our offense did look better. Do any of you really think our qb play will markably improve nect year?? And if it doesn't, do we really have a chance for a NC??

I think you are. Our O-line didn't give him enough time a lot of the time. Our receivers didn't get open a lot of the time.
Does Driskel need to improve? Yes. Who doesn't?
Is it all his fault? No. Is this a team that plays 11 men at a time or a team with one man?

It was right before the f$u game...

I hope you are all right...just don't see it.I'll have plenty of time to calm down now. I am really looking forward to the O&B game. we have not looked great offensively the last couple of years, maybe we will look better this year and become more positive going into the year.

Crap dude.
Last year we were 6-6 in the regular season.
This year we were 11-1.
Did you really expect to be anywhere near this? I didn't.
You would have never thought about competing for a National Championship 2 years down the road back in August. Relax and let it happen.

Jeff has struggled, especially relative to his peers. Quite a few QBs in his class are playing at a very high level. It sucks he's nowhere near that. But he has the underlying talent, and hopefully he puts the time in to learn the position.
He oozes athleticism but he has no command of the position. Sometimes you can learn it, sometimes you can't.

QB play will improve when the OL and WR play improves and when Driskel improves. It takes all three, Driskel alone can't do it any more than the WRs or OL alone can.

Looking forward to:
1. Our receivers being much better next year (we have gone from striking out in recruiting receivers for 2 years in a row (possible exception Pittman); to bringing in the best receiver class we have brought in since 2006).
2. Our O-line being much better next year (3 transfers, 2 of which could start almost anywhere to beef up the unit)
3. Our backfield being strong (Matt Jones, Kelvin Taylor, Adam Lane)
4. Offense having 2 years in the same system
5. Jeff's improvement
In Christ forever,
Mike
