Honorary Recruiting Coordinators Over the Years
For those of us (like me) who are only just getting used to the recruiting carousel, I thought it would be sweet for some of you guys to reminisce about certain recruits who went above and beyond to help UF land big fish or even hold a class together.
I'll start:
Tebow obviously helped us recruit bigger fish. Who wouldn't want to play with him or for him?
Trey Burton. From what I remember hearing at the time, he saved our recruiting class from certain disaster in the middle of the whole Urban drama thing.
And now, for this year's class, may I present..Nick Washington.
Love hearing about recruits that go out of their way to help build something special. Any other recruits (recent or not) that you remember going above and beyond for Gator Nation?

Lynden Trail helped that Trey Burton year. BTW Trail was a FCS All American this year at Norfolk State he had 17 tackles for loss and 70 overall. Two more years like that and he will get drafted

I was about to mention Trail's role for the 2010 class. Sort of funny how his UF career ended after all that work.

Whatever happened to Lynden? I remember Franz or somebody comparing him to Jevon Kearse.

There were whispers of grades and work ethic issues, but nothing was ever substantiated. I tend to think Lynden just wasn't a great fit for what Muschamp wants from his defensive ends: 6'7 lanky pass rushers don't seem like what our defense calls for any more.
Trail enrolled at Norfolk State, despite rumors that he would go to Ohio State to be with Meyer. He recorded six sacks and 70 overall tackles.

Hated to lose him. He had such a great football name... Lynden Trail.

We always forget about him on this board, but don't forget Chris Leak. He made an announcement at the high school all american game I believe and soon after the big time recruits flocked over.

Brandon Spikes probably did more as a vocal leader building the 2006 class than Tebow did, but of course, he famously said he followed Tim here because he wanted to play with him.

He needs to be more careful. Saying stuff like that can get a guy arrested on multiple charges...
