WHEN Does UMiami Get Hit With NCAA Sanctions?
I am sorry, but I am soooo tired of waiting for the CoCanes to get hit with NCAA sanctions.
I have eperienced, first hand, their recruiting stunts when I was in high school.
I have also known players who were at Florida in the late 60's who have shared stuff with me that Miami pulled.
(I had relatives and close neighbors who played for Florida from 1967 onward.)
Miami has been doing it and doing it... blatantly for over four decades now... hitting their high levels since the late 80's! Now with Shapiro singing like a canary... you would think that high school players would be backing off.
Their stunts put every other school in college football to shame.
Honestly, I have witnessed crud that has been pulled by the likes of Alabama, FSU, AURBURN... Clemson, Ohio State... even SMU...
Nothing compares to the crap Miami has pulled!
Anyone got any ideas as to WHEN the NCAA will come down on them?
It is freaking AMAZING that high level players continue to even sniff at them.

I am also surprised that recruits continue to look at Miami

I would be shocked if the CoCanes got a "slap on the wrist."
Not saying that it could not happen...
But I would be utterly disgusted with the NCAA...
Here is a challenge for anyone out there...
Name ONE school in the NCAA over the last 30 years that deserves to get hit harder by sanctions than Miami...
They have hidden down there in Coral Gables without really nobody in the ACC to keep an eye on them. Their sheer location, in and of itself... has been a true benefit for them. I know this because I have had former Florida coaches share this tidbit with me.
Trying to recruit against Miami is like playing on a truly unlevel playing field.

If you think about it no one else has really been hit hard by the NCAA so why would it start now. If I were running the NCAA, I would have already laid out 3 "death penalties"....USCw, Auburn and tosu.

Yes you did stop our offense very well while there but yes I was holding a grudge. From the day you got here and every time I hear you speak and your excitement about coaching our Gators, working your tale off and being a straight shooter, you are now one of my all time favorite coaches. Thanks coach.

Their self imposed bowl ban (convenient, since they've been pretty mediocre) for the past two years may lighten their punishment.
They need to get whacked on schollies though, big time.

The NCAA can't impose sanctions until it completes the investigation. It's hard to complete your investigation when you keep finding more and more violations.
The Miami situation is unique. Never before, in my memory, has a dirty booster actively and enthusiastically cooperated with the NCAA in an investigation of major violations. It must be an NCAA investigator's wet dream.

How long does it take a glacier to move say ten yards? Figure that one out and you'll have your answer. The NCAA isn't known for speed - or imposing harsh penalties against name programs in this age of TV money ruling college football.

Most people have forgotten that Miami still plays football. Common error.

One would certainly think so, which is why I am puzzled that this has taken so long. What more do they need to hammer them?

soon. I predict 3 - 4 schollies deducted over the next 4 years and a 'show cause' for several former coaches.
