PP does more abortions than ever in FY 2012

Just another year for Planned Parenthood: a record number of abortions and probably government funding too. But yeah, our government is not pro-abortion.

The new report released by the Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) shows the abortion giant did a record 333,964 abortions on unborn children during the 2011-2012 fiscal year. Those abortions were estimated to have generated $150 million dollars for the “nonprofit” organization.

While the number of abortions reached a record high, only 2,300 Planned Parenthood customers were referred to adoption agencies during the 2011-2012 fiscal year.

Meanwhile, the annual report reveals PPFA generated nearly $1.2 billion in total income — just short of the $1.22 billion mark that was its record for income that it posted in 2010-2011.

PPFA’s income included a hefty and ever-increasing check from American taxpayers. In 2009-2010, government funding reached a whopping $487.4 million. In 2010-2011 the figure jumped to $538.5 million. The total for 2011-2012 reached a staggering $542.4 million, which represents 45.2 percent of the group’s total annual budget.

I don't think anybody is hoping for more abortions, but as our population size increases, we should expect increases in most population-dependent occurrences. Autoerotic fatalities are probably also on the rise.

So up from 2010 but still lower per capita than 2009. And with Obamacare ensuring covered access to contraception, I bet that per capita figure will be falling. Better safe-sex education in schools would help, too.

Most anti-choicers I've seen say that human life begins at conception; that is, the moment an egg is fertilized by a sperm. But between 60-80% of fertilized eggs fail to implant in the uterus. Furthermore, about 50% of implanted eggs will spontaneously abort. So God, if you like, is aborting the majority of fertilized eggs--unborn innocent children, in your terminology. If S/He doesn't have a problem with it, I don't see why you do.

Alternatively, you could suppose that God isn't constrained by mere biological mechanics and can bind a soul to an egg whenever S/He sees fit, taking into consideration the fore-known decisions of the parents (if you're into predetermination) or delaying the binding until the parents' decision is made.

Of course God probably doesn't exist so arguing about souls is kinda ridiculous. Instead you could just look at facts, like that laws banning abortions do nothing to lower the abortion rate, it just moves it into the black market or involves dangerous do-it-yourself remedies, and that having a safe, clean, legal, affordable way to deal with unwanted pregnancies is probably best for all parties involved and society at large.

i always kinda figured, if there was a god, he would appreciate our efforts here on earth what with all the little childrens he takes back up to heaven on a daily basis around the world.

hes only one god and there are only so many hours in the day...
