Most Expensive Ticket in Sports History?
I heard this game is surpassing the auburn oregon game a few years back in that dept. Something like average selling price for an upper level seat is $2,500 and average for a lower level is over $4,000.
Who will have more fans there?
And for fun, if Florida was in the game would we dominate attendance because of it being in our backyard even though they probably travel better than we do? I remember 4 years ago in south Florida at the bcs title game looking around the stadium it was at least 75% Gator fans, and tailgating felt more like 90%.
Thoughts?

It seemed that way, but tix were $800 this morning and 1,200 available on Stub Hub.
The demand has gone way down.
And from all accounts I've heard, it's probably 70% ND there.

Don't swallow the hype.
Vegas is claiming the big money is going on Bama,
with MORE, smaller bets on the Irish..cheap bastids.

Ticket prices for this game seem to vary so much each year. I remember paying about $1,100 for my lower level seat to the Ohio State game in Glendale. The price on stubhub fluctuated a lot in the days leading up to that game, and I expected it to fall as the game got closer and there were still tons of tickets available on the site. In the end, the opposite happened and I got burned by a spike in the price when I finally was out of time and had to buy the ticket. I watched the prices on stubhub leading up to the Oklahoma game in Miami as well. I was shocked to see they were much lower than what had been the norm out in Arizona a couple of years earlier. I had expected the fact that one of the teams was playing in its home state to increase demand given that it would be an easy trip for much of a very large fanbase. Anyway, I'm not surprised this year's is way up there. You know Bama will travel, and ND fans must be so starved to play in a game like this that they're not going to miss it.

Ohio State fans were ravenous for tix for that game in Glendale.
They were so ready to beat us and win the title.
I'm sure more than a few had buyer's remorse after the game.

It certainly appeared that way leaving the stadium. I have to admit I had a momentary bout of buyer's remorse when Ted Ginn ran the opening kickoff back, but that went away pretty quickly.

My BIL paid 2200 to go to the Super Bowl and watch his Titans play the Rams. To this day I can say "ONE DAMN YARD" and watch his anxiety rise. LOL.

I still regret the $1,500 I spent for two tickets to the Disaster in the Desert. When you add in airfare and hotel, I dropped $3k for that game.
I'll never spend that much ever again on a sporting event.

Super Bowl XLI in Miami you were lucky if you could find a ticket for $1K; typically they were going for around $3K, but not a lot of sellers. Face for uppers was $600 and face for lowers was $700. Personally, it's a little crazy to be dealing with cash transactions like that with a complete stranger; especially now that tickets are simply scanned and not ripped, you don't even know if you're purchasing a valid ticket.

upper level seat to this game for $2,500? For that, you can buy a 65 inch LED TV from Samsung.

Is this true? Anyone have a link to verify? I know someone who purchased 4 tickets at $2,400 a piece for this game so it could be true.
