Three Consecutive Years of Gator Offensive struggles
Year/Coordinator - Points Per Game - Yards Per Game
2010/S. Addazio 29.8 PPG (8th in SEC) 351.2 YPG (10th in SEC)
2011/C. Weis 25.5 PPG (8th in SEC) 328.7 YPG (10th in SEC)
2012/B. Pease 26.5 PPG (10th in SEC) 334.0 YPG (12th in SEC)
Three different Offensive Coordinators in three years. Pease can do better but I think it was a case of the Jimmys and Joes more than the Xs and Os.
Still .. Florida went 11-2 against college football's toughest schedule. They did so with a helluva defense and a penchant for taking care of the ball. Except in the two losses.
UF went 11-0 when it turned the ball over two or fewer times in a game this past season. The Gators were 0-2 when they turned it over more than twice (six turnovers versus Georgia, three versus Louisville). Florida was 11-0 when it won the turnover battle, 0-2 when it lost it.
Next year .. ???

Well next year should be better.
So hopefully there will be no need for you to duplicate this thread this time next year. Carry on.

the last 3 years---mediocre talent at Oline, WR and QB = mediocre offense. No surprise.

I think we will improve a great deal next year, I think the thing this past season was that we caught teams off guard to who we were as no one expected us to win as we did. Louisville had time to gameplan for us in ways other teams did not. I do expect teams to take more chances blitzing us more next season to test us.

Three yeas in a row, three different systems. Maybe doing the same O twice in a row, would fix things.

I to believe next year will be better. We will have some needed playmakers and my hope is they see the field.

I think our defense will take a slight step back and our offense a significant step forward. We will be a more balanced team and I expect another 10+ win season, hopefully with the SEC-CG game.

This is pretty bad. I would've thought 2010 was the worst of the three. I would chalk a lot of it up to SEC competition, but the truth is, we've been pretty bad against non-conf teams too.

We scored more defensive & ST's TDs in 2010 and 2011 than in 2012. If you normalize the ppg by removing ST's & defensive TD's it works out to the following:
2010 - 25.49 offensive ppg
2011 - 22.27 offensive ppg
2012 - 24.35 offensive ppg

All three are very good coaches it is the players on that side of the ball. 2013 should be better because of the O line. The big jump will happen in 2014

Heres how Id sum up the past four years really:
2009: inconsistent, disjointed, could only take what the defense gave them in the passing game, underachived given the talent level, QB concussed, too many sacks
2010: could not even snap the ball to the QB, OL had no clue, too many sacks
2011: no schematic advantage, TWO QBs injured, could not throw past the first down marker, too many sacks
2012: decent, clever yet inconsistent rushing attack, poor pass protection, QB injured again, too many penalties, too many sacks
In 2009 and 2011 our starting QB was knocked out of a game due to overwhelming sacks. In 2012 our starting QB was injured running for his life. The understatement of the decade is that we could use some better blocking in pass protection.

fire the oc! that'll teach em!
Three different OC's on a bunch of kids that learn a new system every year, what could possibly go wrong?

Happens when you have four OC's in five years.

We need Addazio back like we need to install the wishbone offense....that is to say, not at all!!!
People need to remember a couple of key elements we had to deal with recently.
1. We installed our 3rd offense in 3 years. With a new OC.
2. We played the toughest schedule in the nation by my accounting.
3. We lost our WR position coach right before the season began (Aubrey Hill) and had to roll with a grad assistant with no experience.
4. Our QB had to split reps all Spring which had to have stunted his development. This was especially true in his area of greatest need...reading defenses and learning to check down on his receivers during plays. (I feel this was our greatest mistake this year)
5. Of the two losses we suffered both opponents had favorable conditions for the game. Georgia, in their easy freaking schedule that gave them plenty of time to prep especially for us. Louisville, in having a our former D coordinator as their coach and a team looking to win its biggest game in program history.
I expect improvement in our offense, but I think we are going to be a hard nosed run first team under Muschamp and don't expect us to turn into an aerial assault, shoot out kind of team no matter what happens. I could be wrong, and I would personally love to see Pease get some more leeway to open it up, but only time will tell.
