Being regular season he might have gotten something more. Being MNC game with SEC interest at stake...Not so much.

I believe it was after the pick, so it was legal to hit Murray. Every defender is looking for a shot on the QB after a turnover.
But obviously helmet to helmet.
Can't risk BAMA being short on D against Notre Dame.

What are the chances that Saban suspends him like Spurrier suspended Quarles for our game?

I'd have thrown a flag if I were a ref and saw that happen, but you could make a case that Murray was not a "defenseless player" since he was not "out of the play", and was jogging in the direction of the INT to make a tackle, I guess.

Head on a swivel after an int, they 'missed' the flag for helmet to helmet but at that point in the play Murray is a defender on an int return.

They missed the suspension too. This is automatic if it's committed by a player on one of the lesser SEC programs.

I thought it happened right after the play ended. Regardless, that was as clear and blatant of a helmet to helmet hit as one can make. Should be suspended for at least a quarter. In the NFL he's probably fined at least 30k, and probably sits out a game or two.

the story mentioned a UGA player eye gouging?! First I've heard of it ... how come the media isn't all over this one like they were with Spike's retaliation jab? Does anyone have video clip of this?

I can't imagine how theym "missed it". The ref was right there facing him. It was clearly a cheap hedshot and should have been flagged. As it turned out, it may well have made the difference in the game since Georgia would have been able to kick the winning FG had they stopped Bama before the half.

Well whether or not it should have drawn a flag (and I think it was a clean legal hit myself) maybe this will help educate other QB's in the future who throw interceptions to not assume they are safe from being blocked.
Hell if I were on defense and had a legal shot on a QB I would take it!
It's what they are supposed to do.
Murray kept playing - hopefully a wiser QB for it.

Hate to say it, but in slo-mo / stop (at 4 sec) he led as much with his pads as Morrison did on his hit on Manual.
Yes, his helmet made almost simultaneous contact, and it was almost under the chin. Close play, bang bang, no flag. I can see it going either way, actually.
