I'm sure he does. But let's face it, if his brother wasn't there, Ole Miss would not have a shot. He likes Ole Miss because his brother is there.

You could say the same thing about Treadwell. If Treadwell's best friend did not go to Ole Miss he would have not had them on them on his list. Recruiting always goes back to relationships.

Agreed, but the relationships that are usually alluded to are the ones forged between the players and the coaches who are recruiting them. Ole Miss is getting a lucky break with these two relationships. But hey, luck counts too.

Relationships with everybody counts from player to coaches to family member to friends etc. Freeze also can recruit, people are going to be shocked at how good Ole Miss is in 2 or 3 years.
Speaking of relationships it looks like Geis (D walkers coach) has a nice relationship with Pruitt and that might help FSU get Kain Daub

Ole Miss will be good but I don't think they'll win the conference, nor their division while Treadwell and Robert N. are in school. Back in September I was optimistic about aTm beating Bama; I don't necessarily think Bama is unbeatable. I just don't think Ole Miss has enough all-around talent to beat LSU, Alabama, and aTm in one season.

Watch how they close this year and recruit next year. I am not saying they will win the east but they have a shot at beating one or two of those teams each year in a few years.

I think they will beat one of the 3 next year (most likely LSU, because they're dropping a lot of kids). I know LSU has depth, but I think they're a 3-loss team next year

With the way Hugh Freeze is building that program, Ole Miss will be a team other schools in the SEC don't want to deal with. I don't see them becoming a national power, but they'll knock a 'Bama, LSU or A&M off periodically.
I watched them give Georgia fits for the first half of that game, and you could see that a lack of depth did them in during the second half. When Freeze builds that up across the line of scrimmage, watch out. That offense is creative and fun to watch.

Agree with Ole Miss being much better next year. Would not be surprised at all if the make a significant move in the West next year. Heck, the are already passing MSU and coach Mullin so that did not take long.

Robert is a good kid. He honesty wants to look around at his opinions. His parents do have a huge influence on him and his mom wants him to go with his brother. But she also wants strong academics, even though Robert wants NFL.
I wouldn't at all count us out. He's definitely leaning ole miss but he's not convinced
He's one if my students and I'm also a coach at Grayson. I talk with him every day. He wears ole miss garb all the time, but also rocks orange and blue too. Never actually seen him in LSU apparel.
As far as the twitter follow me request, the kid is new to twitter. And he's in HS, he wants to have as many followers as possible.
My opinion, he ends up at old miss , but would be shocked at all if he landed in Gainesville.

Thank you for the post!!! Keep us up to date and let him know how much UFreak wants him at UF.
Someone should tell him that Ole Miss will not win the SEC or have a chance at it, much less an NC. UF on the other hand ....

This confirms one of the things I was thinking. He sounds like a high character guy from this post, and WM is bringing in lots of high character kids in the class: Nick Washington, Kelvin Taylor, Ahmad Fulwood, the list goes on and on. These are the types of kids that get so close off of the field, they end up stringing together big wins and lots of success on the field.
It would not shock me at all for him to be a part of this group.
In Christ forever,
Mike

Do you mean " wouldn't be" shocked? If your quote is accurate then you already seem to make it sound like he's barely worth pursuing.
Out of interest - if you don't mind me asking - what kind of influence (maybe percentage?) do you coaches have on these kids' destinations? ...Honestly speaking, that is. If you don't feel like you can say without compromising your position/professionalism, I would completely understand.
I ask because of all the Demarcus Robinson-to-Clemson-via-his-HS-coach talk that we had on here a few weeks ago, which you may or may not have been reading.
I'm still hugely skeptical about RnK but if you say he's genuinely considering Florida, then I hope we leave no stone unturned in trying to persuade him. I got the impression originally that Ole Miss was a sure thing which is why I wouldn't get excited about it all.
Is it purely his Mother that is the defining factor in Ole Miss? If it is, I am sure our coaching staff are aware and will be in her ear as much as with his. If he's focussed on the NFL, I refuse to believe for even 1 second that the Rebels are a better exposure for him than 3 years in Gainesville where he could be the elite name on an elite defense. With secondary we are piling up, QBs aren't just going to be able to launch the ball away without care and that would give time for an elite pass rushing DE to look reeeeeaaally good...

I meant "wouldn't"....
Coaches have a big influence when thy take that route IF the kids doesn't have a big family influence. At our school, Coach doesn't push kids one way or another. He's a BIG Bama guy, but e truly wants the kids to go where's best and doesn't try to I Luce one way or another. At some schools with coaches, it is completely different. If the player has no other male influence, I feel like the coach takes advantage of that situation sometimes.
Robert's mother isn't only factor. I think his father is visiting UF with him this weekend....his parents really care about academics. Like a lot I parents, I'm sure they'd like to see their Sons together.
I'm sure the coaches aren't putti all the time and resources into this if there isn't a slight crack in the door. Ole Miss is leader but UF has a lot to offer for both Robert and his parents.

Barring something drastic on his Ole Miss visit next week. He will be a rebel, the staff and recruits all know this. However, it's still nice to be second with the #1 recruit in the country.

Good information GB27. Sometimes it doesn't come down to the school that fits the best, look at Demarcus Walker(chuckle). In the end family could ask Robert to pick the school he wants to play for and that could be UF. Were Ole Miss in the weeds with a marginal class I think we would have a better shot but it looks like they have more of a future to sell as well.

Maybe someone will call him Robert Bum Itchy or something by accident, he'll be so offended he falls straight back into our arms...

No it's not, never settle for second.
We may be #1 in his favorite schools but his brother is #1 in his heart and that will be the difference but I hope not.
