Bama fans invade oaks mall...
Stopped by to get something to eat and buy a few things. Unfortunately, the lines for every food joint were PACKED with bama fans. Was wondering what all the busses were doing outside. I can only assume they're heading to south beach. (Duh, I know) I've never seen so many checkered shoes and pants in my life. I had to get out as quick as possible.
GO IRISH.... Yeah, I said it.

You know, usually I would say you were being a jerk to say Go Notre Dame like that, but in this case, you KNOW them stopping in Gainesville was totally intentional, so they deserved it.

Before our game I was kind of leaning Notre Dame. After our game... very passionately pulling for Notre Dame.

I shouldn't say this, but they did look a little bandish. (IE, one had pacman pajamas on) Sorry to any band members here. I have nothing but respect for you guys. (Seriously)
I don't know though.... There's was a ton of them.

FSU band always uses the Florida Mall in Jorlando for the same purpose when going to Miami. Must be some kind of band travel rule involving mall food court discount meals.

They have 425 in the band plus directors and extras.

They stop there because there are not many places that over 400 people can go and eat.

It's not like there are any other great places to stop in the area...what did you want them to do, eat at the closed-down Whataburger in Starke?

Hmmm....I thought there are plenty of pastures along the way for them to graze. Guess not.

I won't be going anywhere near the Oaks mall until the Red Robin opens up. At least the gumps dumped some money in Gainesville...

If they left Tuscaloosa around 8am they'd be in Gainesville around dinner time. Either stop early in Tallahassee or late in Orlando. Not like there's other options.
Of course leaving early in the morning to make it to Miami that evening wasn't a consideration...clearly Bama's world revolves around the Gators...
BTW, my wife and I drove back to Mobile from Melbourne for the holidays. We stopped in Gainesville. She wanted one of those mocha shakes from McDonalds. We didn't care it was Gainesville.

I hope they all have fun driving to the stadium, which is about 30 minutes north of South Beach (without rush hour traffic). I find it funny the way ESPN is trying to sexy things up with the South Beach live broadcast. Sunlife stadium is out in the middle of nowhere off the turnpike with just housing developments on one side and swampy wildlife on the other.

Ah, I wasn't aware of that. Thx. It probably was the band then.
One of them decided to yell roll tide loudly. Wasn't very happy about that. I was with family so I kept my mouth shut. I wanted to say something so bad, trust me. What really sucks is that the only gator gear I had on was a gator fossil watch. Had I known, I would have been decked out in orange and blue. I'm telling you guys, it was strange seeing so many bama fans in all our usual lines. It's already annoying waiting in line as it is. But to have 400 BAMA fans in front of you..... Sigh......

You should have made the most of it and scoped out the baton girls.

In Gump land, they aren't referred to as girls...they are "wimmin".
