Not A Big Deal At All
To put some perspective into you doomsday preppers, this loss doesn't mean anything. Louisville wanted this more than anything in the world. Florida wanted to be in the SECCG and BCSCG. A Sugar Bowl is essentially meaningless to an Elite Team.
Bama lost to Utah in the Sugar Bowl and won the National Championship the next year (No I'm not predicting a Natty)
Oklahoma lost to Boise State and was playing for a title two years later.
Fact is, elite teams don't care about games like this unless it's against another elite team.
Don't go jumping off of any buildings tonight people.

Just very surprising to see our D carved up like that. The onside kick turned out to be a backbreaker. Either way, not too worried about losses like this. Lose Lose situation.

Couldn't agree more. For teams like UL, this is just as big as a MNC..for UF, we wanted to be in the MNC (rightfully so playing the nation's toughest schedule and finishing 11-1). This games serves as nothing more than motivation to work hard this offseason to not be embarrassed next year. I think this loss helps more than a win would've. Go Gators!!

You sir are correct. The negs will be claiming they were right. Even though we won 5 more games than many of them predicted.
This game means nothing.
Nothing new was revealed. We know our Offense is rough. We know our QB and WR situations are still question marks.
I'll take 11-2 and sleep fine tonight.

I said it in the very beginning that this was a bad match up for a bowl game. Florida and nothing to be pumped about playing a much lower ranked team.

Utah was a far, far, far, far better team than Louisville could ever dream of being.

No, the team owed Gator Nation just a wee bit more than the crap served up for our consumption.
The good will of the season took a major hit.

Offhand, I'd say the players showed the same lack of pride I see on this thread.

Exactly. Just see who had more fans. It definitely meant more for Louisville. I would've gone had Oklahoma been there instead of Louisville. Hard to get pumped for a meaningless game to everyone but the seniors. Feel bad for the seniors though.

Yep, I'm not even mad or upset and usually when we lose, especially when we play like crap, I am livid for hours. Would have been nice to win, but it was a pointless game for us. Big game for Louisville since they are in a crap conference and don't have much history in football.

Not bad -- we saw how cocky we got sitting around for a month listening to people tell us how good we were.
Can't imagine 7 months of that would have done us any good.
This team can use a little humility to go with their talent.

Alot of people don't see the improvement but from 7-6 to 11-2 is amazing. We had an inconsistent ol a second year qb and people seem to forget that we also have a second year head coach who's also only going to get better. With the recruiting, the talent already here and the improvement we've seen this year the sky is the limit

I just can't get on board with this mentality...just the simple nature of being a competitor and an athlete and playing in front of your fans who pour their heart and soul into watching you day in and day out should be enough for guys to play at their highest level...a loss eats at me for hours and I'm not even an athlete...these guys are paid by the school (by paid I meant given tuition, room/board etc) to show up day in and day out for 3-4 years...I can understand more not bringing it every day in practice but Im sorry...it shouldnt be too much to ask for kids to bring it once a week on gameday...not to mention for this game they had a month off to rest up...there is no excuse or silver lining for this....it may not hurt us with recruiting or anything but its a loss that shouldnt have happened...not to mention its ammo for our rivals

You know Dillman will use this to punish our team all offseason long. Isn't this Dillmans first full offseason with the team or was that last year?

If you guys think this was no big deal then I feel sorry for you. Since when did losing the Sugar Bowl and being embarrassed by a lesser team become no big deal. Doesn't anybody have pride anymore? I would give my left nut to have the opportunity to play in that game and represent the University of Florida with the passion and competitiveness they deserve. I had a freaking Auburn fan asking me what was wrong with the gators. That was pathetic. If you can't get up for a BCS bowl you shouldn't even be on the team.

Let's bring your examples closer to home --
Nebraska gave us a much more humiliating bowl defeat in Jan. 1996 Fiesta Bowl -- 62-24. Do you remember that? Humiliating! They even broke Quezzie's leg!
And the next year WE WON OUR FIRST NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP 52-24 OVER F$U!
