Are you talking to me. Just because we played a tough schedule and won doesn't mean jack in the one game he had 15 practices to prepare for.... the coaches messed up this bowl game preparation.
Now that's completely separate from our great regular season record. But why did they try and change the winning formula, we are a ground and pound team, yet we didn't do any of that. And how do you explain the weapons-grade-retard decision to start the second half with an onside kick?

Yeah because the SEC doesn't have the best coaches in the nation

Look AZ, I like our coaches and I like Muschamp, but lets be honest here, He/they got completely out-coached in this bowl game.
Louisville is not in the SEC... no need to conflate two separate issues.

Yes, I do need to get over it. This forum is therapy for that. But it's nice to see someone else honest about what happened without over-blowing it, nor brushing it under the rug as if it never happened.

muschamp--still learning how to prepare, motivate, game plan for different types of games, teams, etc. It may take another year.

I have confidence he'll get all of it ironed-out. He now has real life experience from which to to draw from as a head coach in a big game.

Some games are just a mystery. Why did we blow out USCE, who had thumped Georgia? Then we lose to Georgia. In the NFL, this is even more pronounced from week to week.
Why did SOS lose to Tenn in 2001? Why did we lose to a terrible Miss. St. with Tebow? Sometime stuff happens that makes you scratch your head and wonder. Coach Boom said we can play with anyone. He is probably correct. That doesn't mean that we would never sh*t the bed.. Hopefully he learns from this, however it's amazing to me that fans who follow football cannot understand how stuff like this happens.

This a lame thread. Every coach will say their team can play with anyone. I think 2 cupcakes we played thought they could beat us if given the chance for a replay. On the same thought, many games looked like we could get beat by anyone.

I disagree. This team proved they could win games against tough competition. What they haven't proved is that they can play like a dominant team against lesser competition. They also haven't proved they can be consistently disciplined, and that goes squarely on the shoulders of the coaches.

I agree. Just more unnecessary negativity. What's the purpose? So what if Muschamp said we'd play any team, any place, any time. Why does a bowl loss change that?

I loved Billy D after the FSU game this year postgame - told the team that he loved the effort. Said that after some easy wins, it would have been easy to just think they could have just shown up and won. Told them he guaranteed they'd get beat if they did that.
|
Yes, saw the celebration after the BBALL team dismantled F$U in Tallacrappy...Billy told them it is more than just showing up...the UofA game...was tough...but the K$U game seemed more of "just showing up to play and thinking you will win."
What I was trying to get at in my original Friday afternoon thought process...

The onside kick was a calculated risk to change the momentum. If it had worked (had a good chance of happening against UL's mediocre special teams) we'd be discussing what a brilliant call it was. Even if they recover at the 50, we only lose 25 yards. Should Muschamp have known we were going to have two personal fouls on that play?

I even forgot about the two fouls, but something tells me they wont try that strategy to start the half again..... I hope.
