Who starts at LT in 2013?
Other than WR, easily the worst position on our team. An o-line is only as strong as its weakest point

DJ Humphries is probably the front-runner for the position. Max Garcia or Chaz Green could make a push for the starting job in the off-season, but one of those two will likely be the RT with Humphries at LT. Nixon was frustrating to watch. He clearly had talent, he just could never find the consistency we needed from him.

Gotta be D.J. Humphries. Left guard is the position up for grabs IMO.

Let's not forget about Moore. Although he seems to be in it for RT.

Why are we so sure WR is worse than QB? LT is obviously a problem though.

really why? Let be honest DJ didnt have enough weight or experience to be a starting tackle in the SEC this year. We won ever game in the regular season but one. You actually think the coaches sent out Nixon if DJ was better?

I think later in season XN got worse and DJ got better. Muschamp even said he is pushing for the starting job. Do u think it woulda really been that much worse to let him start and get VAUBLE playing time??? XN was a weak link ALL year all the way to the 2 pt conversion try that ended our season!! He didn't belong there!

Well obviously he was because if it was close they would have started DJ. Starting DJ all year vs the best DE's a tackle has had to face in the past 5 years in college football would have been a disaster. Nixon faced 6 first round draft picks this year. As frustrating as it was at times it would have been worse watching a 6'6 270lbs freshmen do it.

We'll see about that. I like DJ's chances. He will put on some weight and may be ready by fall.

It really doesn't matter. Anyone we get is better than what we had.

Pretty much the case. It was the weak link all year.

RAZ, this isn't a popular place the day after a loss for logic and common sense. People need to bag on players and coaches and scream for the backups. I mean, if agitated GC posters don't know who is better in practice and gives UF the best chance to win, who would?
Come back in a week and this place will be back to normal... which is barley bearable.

Nixon has been a drag on the OL for 3 straight seasons, never living up to the potential of his freshman year. We've had lots of guys (looking at Halapio, mostly) who were forced to play early, stunk it up, then improved greatly the next few years. Nixon regressed. Constantly got beat by any lineman with decent footwork, didn't have the strength to stop an SEC bullrush by his senior year, constantly had procedural penalties (what was that - his 10th career false start the other night?).
I'm sure he's a great guy, and I'm not saying all this to insult him. The truth is though, the OL situation--and LT in particular--is embarrassing and insulting to all Florida fans. Thankfully, this is being rectified in short order thanks to Coach Boom.
